I don’t know how many here are in the UK, but in case you don’t already know, all porn sites will be required to age verify users by this Friday, 25 July. Not sure yet quite how this will look, and if it will differ from site to site, but credit card checks / uploading photo ID, mobile phone network checks, etc, look likely. I guess this was inevitable really, with how easy it has always been for someone of any age to access hardcore porn online. Even a toddler can click on a ‘Yes I am over 18 box’ and see absolutely anything. I hope it’s all relatively simple, I’m not crazy about the thought of these sites having my photo on file, not to mention credit card details, etc. It’s a little scary to think that your ID / photo will be permanently linked to whatever you access. Perhaps it will make those who access really bad (like illegal) stuff think twice about what they search for. But for those of us who just want to view ‘normal’ ie legal content, I really hope this isn’t all too complicated. Has anyone already ran their ID check through an app or any porn sites yet in relation to this? I’m hoping that I don’t have to use multiple check apps in order to access the handful of sites I use. I also hope the process is as simple and non intrusive as possible, if they can do some sort of age check via your mobile provider, maybe that would be the best option. Thanks
Here, they want your driver's license for age and photo on record .... Pornhub and others have either been blocked for age verification, or they just won't offer the service here because they don't want the risk of maintaining your data securely.
I shan't be giving my details to a porn site. How to get visual stimulation without porn? Well, I'll chat to people online and hopefully we'll do more
VPN is the answer for now though I have no doubt uncle Joe Starmer has his minions hard at work ending this work around.
You are so right, but GCHQ etc, has told him to knock that one on the head (no pun intended...lol). As all their own phones have VPN's as a mater of course. Yes their coms for work, is far more complicated then anything on the VPN, market can offer.
There's history of being able to access things where passwords couldn't be cracked. It's a myth - albeit a common one - that VPNs hide you or your history.
