White: UFC fight at White House 'going to happen'

    excerpt:

"UFC CEO Dana White said a fight night at the White House on the Fourth of July next year is "absolutely going to happen," and he's scheduled to travel to Washington later this month to meet with President Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka, to discuss logistics.

President Trump said last month that he wanted to stage a UFC match on the White House grounds with upwards of 20,000 spectators to celebrate 250 years of American independence."

Start the UFC event by having some of Trump's pardoned rioters, the J6 Choir, sing their version of the National Anthem.

During the 2024 campaign, Trump would start his rallies with the J6 Choir National Anthem playing while he stood and saluted.

As the 2024 election approached, Trump stopped doing it. Apparently, his campaign manager Susie Wiles stopped it, aware of how demented it is even for some of Trump followers and potential voters for Trump,

Wiles was Trump's chaperone at his campaign rallies in 2024. She would approach him on stage to stop him when his antics became crazy, even by Trump standards. Trump would notice her and say, "I'm not allowed to say that?"

Trump says he settled ten wars.

Russia Bombed a U.S. Factory in Ukraine. Here’s How Trump Responded.

    excerpt:

Andy Hunter, the president of the Ukrainian affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, described the strike as “not only an attack on Ukraine” but “an attack on American business,” which he said is being “destroy[ed] and humiliat[ed]” by Russia.

As Trump quickly changed the subject Friday, he resorted to his oft-repeated lie about having ended several wars during his second term. The president had previously said he ended six of them. Recently, he added a mysterious seventh conflict to that claim.

“I settled seven wars,” Trump continued Friday, before loosening the criteria for the tally in order to bolster the figure. “Actually, if you think about pre-wars, add three more, so it would be 10.”

Trump bullied third world countries with high tariffs to force them to say he is deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize.

California's lightning-fast push for partisan redistricting reflects Trump's new America

    excerpt:

The fate of any legal challenges to the redistricting efforts is unclear, in part because gerrymandering has become much harder to challenge in court.

In 2019, the Supreme Court threw out claims that highly partisan state election maps are unconstitutional. Chief Justice John G. Roberts said such district-by-district line drawing “presents political questions” and there are no reliable “legal standards” for deciding what is fair and just.

It was not a new view for Roberts.

In 2006, shortly after he joined the court, the justices rejected a challenge to a mid-decade redistricting engineered by Texas Republicans, but ordered the state — over Roberts’ dissent — to redraw one of its majority-Latino districts to transfer some of its voters to another Latino-leaning district.

Roberts expressed his frustration at the time, writing that it “is a sordid business, this divvying us up by race.”
