lol i thought i was using this stuff called sarcaism... Maybe your familiar with a popular term floating around this thing called the internet, it's called UTFS. I could've been a prick and used it but instead I'd thought I'd share my opinion. So I'm not allowed to contribute to your thread just because I happen to have the same thought as you, just a couple weeks prior?
Ujjayi Breathing?? Ujjayi is often called the "sounding" breath or "ocean sounding" breath, and somewhat irreverently as the "Darth Vader" breath. It involves constricting the back of the throat while breathing to create an "ah" sound -- thus the various "sounding" names. Benefits Focuses the mind Increases mindfulness Generates internal heat How to do it 1. Come into a comfortable seated position with your spine erect, or lie down on your back. Begin taking long, slow, and deep breaths through the nostrils. 2. Allow the breath to be gentle and relaxed as you slightly contract the back of your throat creating a steady hissing sound as you breathe in and out. The sound need not be forced, but it should be loud enough so that if someone came close to you they would hear it. 3. Lengthen the inhalation and the exhalation as much as possible without creating tension anywhere in your body, and allow the sound of the breath to be continuous and smooth. To help create the proper "ah" sound, hold your hand up to your mouth and exhale as if trying to fog a mirror. Inhale the same way. Notice how you constrict the back of the throat to create the fog effect. Now close your mouth and do the same thing while breathing through the nose. When to do it During asana practice Before meditation Anytime you want to concentrate Anytime you want to create heat in the body

AAAAH!! DEAD THREAD!!! I mean... damn stalkers heh, funny Saskatchewan weather: it rained on sunday, dropped to about -10C at night, so everything froze over... man am I ever glad I take the bus and didn't have to scrape ice off a car, or worry about sliding around on the roads. Just had to try and not fall on my ass repeatedly while walking out to the bus. oh, and to the lady who posted about cold weather and pierced nipples - I layer so much and wear a padded bra to protect the rings I got done on Feb14th that it isn't even noticeable. Layering is most excellent.
Okay, why is it that I am the first one to request a pic of ihmurria's nipple piercings?! Is no one else curious?! I love the cold, too. I love snow, cold, wind, and darkness. Back before I moved to Florida, I used to snowboard in New York. My favorite thing was to go up to Jiminy Peak for the cheap night session (they had lights). The place was almost deserted by then, and there were never lines at the lifts. Many times I had no one to go with me, so I would leave Long Island in my car around noon, drive 200 miles to Jiminy Peak (sometimes Hunter Mountain or Windham), and get there around 3 or so for the start of the night session. It was like $19 for 3-10 pm! I would sit alone on a lift, and turn around as it made its way up the mountain, and look back at all the lights in the town below. It was magical, so soothing. Then I'd get off at the top of the lift and follow the traverse to where the trail turned around and started down the mountain, and I would sometimes just sit at the top, getting myself ready to go down, and lie back and listen to the wind rush up the mountain, and look at the stars. You know how they say, "Go to your Happy Place"? That's one of mine. Alone in the dark on a mountain in the cold, dressed for warmth and snowboarding, and just looking up at the cold winter stars. Man, it's powerful stuff. Blue skies, -Jeffrey
