    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/09/22/no-ones-laughing-at-trump-at-the-un-this-year-00574999

    excerpt:

No less than seven foreign leaders have nominated or endorsed Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, and several more have come to the White House ready to engage on the president’s terms. One flew to Florida for a round of golf. Another called him “daddy.”

The shift in tone underscores how, despite the MAGA movement being so animated by isolationism, the United States has become more indispensable to its traditional allies than at any point in the recent past. And because the Trump administration has eschewed the conventional policy process, neutering the National Security Council and leaving dozens of ambassadorships unfilled, many countries are left guessing when they face some of their toughest security challenges.

“None of this is amusing any more,” said one senior European official granted anonymity to speak candidly. “Nor do the other leaders still believe they can manage Trump. They’re still trying, but he’s showing an unpredictability this time that no amount of compliments and gifts is going to change.”

Supreme Court to reconsider precendent of who Trump can fire.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/22/politics/supreme-court-precedent-trump-fire

    excerpt:

"In the meantime, while the case is decided, the court said that Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, who has served on the Federal Trade Commission since 2018, could be temporarily removed.

The court’s three liberal justices – Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson – dissented from that decision."

Peter Schiff Slams Republicans For Wanting To 'Gift' Tariff Revenue Back To Taxpayers, Calls It 'One Of The Dumbest Ideas'

    excerpt:

Tax expert Robert Goulder said that rebates like this are more about politics than sound economics. He argued that rebates give the illusion of generosity while ignoring the fact that tariffs are paid by American importers—costs that are often passed directly to consumers. “Every penny of tariff revenue is there because a U.S. importer paid it,” Goulder wrote for Forbes. “The optimal solution for economic self-harm is not to conjure an elaborate rebate mechanism but to scale back the offending tariffs at the first opportunity.”

Herman Cain wasn't as lucky as Ben Carson.

Cain attended Trump's infamous comeback campaign Covod-spreader rally in Tulsa in June 2020 during the Covid pandemic and died of the disease in July.

At Trump's rally Cain said he felt great as he sat in close proximity to other people.

Trump's PR people didn't have much of a comebacker for that fiasco, other than to say Cain probably contracted Covid at some other public gathering where he was engaging in behavior conducive to contracting Covid (the same as at the Trump rally).

    Herman Cain - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

A month after his death, his official Twitter account (which had come under the control of his team and family members) posted that "it looks like the virus is not as deadly as the mainstream media first made it out to be",[115] sparking a discussion about Twitter policies for deceased account holders.[116] In her 2023 memoir Enough, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson noted that Trump's Chief of Staff Mark Meadows remarked "we killed Herman Cain" in reference to the 2020 Tulsa rally.[117]

Supreme Court bombarded with requests to hear cases related to Trump's declared emergencies.

Donald Trump’s independent agency firings bombard Supreme Court

    excerpt:

“The Supreme Court is supporting the President’s muscular way of running the federal government, and it seems that he can do whatever he wants to do with respect to these agencies,” said Bennett Gershman, a law professor at Pace University.

    Ben Carson and his furniture.

Ben Carson office furnishing scandal - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

Late-night comedians mocked the purchase and HUD's response. Trevor Noah of The Daily Show said that valuing a good chair at $5,000 would make Carson "the worst Price Is Right contestant", and suggested the department use the money to build low-income housing instead, in accordance with its mission. Late Night host Seth Meyers said of Carson that "the man loves furniture. Based on his personality he’s probably been mistaken for furniture."[21]

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/21/us/politics/trump-free-speech.html

    excerpt:

"But Mr. Trump himself has repeatedly made clear in recent days that he has a different goal. For him, it’s not about hate speech, but about speech that he hates — namely, speech that is critical of him and his administration.

He has suggested that a clutch of protesters who yelled at him in a restaurant be prosecuted under laws targeting mobsters. He demanded that multiple late-night comics who mocked him be taken off air. He threatened to shutter television broadcasters that he deemed unfair to him. He sued The New York Times for allegedly damaging his reputation. And that was just last week."

How Trump is seizing on Charlie Kirk’s killing for a campaign of vengeance

    excerpt:

Some analysts believe that Trump is fulfilling that ambition. Steve Schmidt, a political strategist, said there has never before been a crime committed in the US where the president and his allies have “used the occasion to demand a consolidation of political power for themselves and collective punishment against their opposition, who have been named as co-conspirators in a crime for which they had no involvement”.

Schmidt noted state demands that flags be lowered and tributes enforced: “What you’re witnessing is a propaganda campaign that is ruthless, brutal and cold, right down to the use of the highly choreographed videography and photographs from the open casket. It’s obscene.”

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/17/opinion/trump-economy-deportation-inflation.html

    excerpt:

"In reality, this was a fantasy. Americans could have a strong, growing economy, which requires immigration to bring in new people and fill demand for labor, or they could finance a deportation force and close the border to everyone but a small, select few. It was a binary choice. Theirs could be an open society or a closed one, but there was no way to get the benefits of the former with the methods of the latter."

Trump could embark on a campaign to revoke Melania's citizenship and kick out of the country for allegedly illegally working in the U.S. while on tourist visas before she was a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen and not being honest about it.

He could also try to chain-deport her relatives (sister, father, and her mother, posthumously) that she chain-migrated to the U.S using her U.S. citizenship.

Trump's ICE arrested a permanent resident grandmother who passed a bad $25 check ten years ago. She is facing deportation for what the Trump administration says is a “crime of moral turpitude.”

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/22/health/trump-autism-announcement-cause-tylenol

    excerpt:

Blaming Tylenol and prescribing a single drug cannot end autism, experts say.

“Regarding autism, we know it is complex, highly variable and increasingly linked to genetics,” Dr. Susan Kressly, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, said in a statement. “There is no single, root cause of autism, and there is no single medication that will give every autistic child or adult what they need. Individualized plans, often involving a combination of developmental, behavioral, educational and social-relational strategies, can help improve outcomes that are meaningful to individuals and families. We also need and welcome additional investments in federally funded research to better support families of autistic children.”

Hello. Nurse here. I’ve read the report, the first paragraph says that their own study did not find any correlation between acetaminophen and neurological disorders. So basically, no, Tylenol does not, according to their own study cause autism.

Here's some fodder for someone to write a novel: A couple of trans persons get PhD's in reproductive medicine and create a way for trans persons to conceive babies that are always trans. Eventually their offspring take over the entire planet and cause all the oligarchs, dictators, haters, and evil spirits to have aneurysms that cause their brains to explode like the Martians did in the film "Mars Attacks".
    Ack Ack Ack . . .
