I once applied to be a porn star. Years ago when there word ads in the back pages of weekly newspapers, I stumbled across one for a local porn company looking for actors and actresses. All you had to do was answer a few questions and email some photos. I thought it would be hilarious to get a rejection letter from a porn company, probably stating “I don’t size up to the competition” or “you don’t have the equipment we’re looking for” or soemthing and I would frame that letter. My girlfriend at the time decided to help me out by taking some photos for my application. Took lamps down and tried making professional lighting and dressing me up (or not dressing me up at all) in generic porn characters: the pizza delivery guy, the nerd, an my favorite the plumber. I wore nothing but a tool belt and stood with one foot on the toilet, a plunger in one hand, and a raging hard on in the other. We emailed the company and days passed. I thought: what happens if I get an interview? Could I go through with it? And what would the interview process entail? A trial run with other applicants? well a few weeks later I was disappointed to not receive a letter in the mail. Just an email saying that they were going in a different direction and thanked me for my time. Definitely not frame wothy. all these years later I realize it was probably a scam just to score some nudes. I hope the recipient got a good laugh out of them!
Yep, a scam is likely. I once went to an office in Las Vegas to meet with someone to pick up a piece of computer hardware he didn't need. When I arrived at the office, first thing I noticed was a photo studio set up with a beautiful female model posing for the shot. Behind this area were cubicles, each containing one usually fat, unattractive local woman smoking cigarettes. They were all chatting on phones, and I then realized this was a 900 number callroom for sex. It was one of the first, when 900 numbers were starting. The women were pretending to be the models whose pics appeared in their ads. There was no internet yet! That company no doubt grew huge, because Vegas is still the phone sex capital apparently.
