I have made LOTS of efforts to engage with swinger couples and singe females... it is as much work as trying to do regular dating.. that is a shit ton effort for a little payoff. And I am hitting up these folks on a paid site where they say they are looking for single guys. And, do not make the mistake of going to a swinger party by yourself,, that is a disaster. The 2 times I had a women with me it was great. Single guys.... what is your experience... is the single guy just not welcome?
Not single but my wife and I did the lifestyle for a while and were invited to swinger parties but never went. As a rule, the parties will limit the amount of single guys to a low number....IF they admit single guys at all. Single women are always welcome. Since the majority of men at a swinger party consider themselves straight, they would probably view a single guy as having nothing to share. The main plan of husbands at a swinger party is to hook up with the other guys wives or a single woman, and if they were being honest, they would want her to be hotter than their own wife....... ( this is what I've been told by husbands in the lifestyle )
We went to house parties with 10- 15 couples and a few single men. All paid admission single men paid more than couples with a few exceptions. All were screened before getting invited, and you had to know someone to refer you. As far as single men there was plenty of women who did several men in one night.
The single guy isn't as welcome for a very testosterone driven reason. That is men in general are more aggressive for sex than women. So the swinger community shies away from single men, even those who are married but the wife won't or doesn't know hubby is. If single men were readily accepted there would be way more cock than pussy to go around. That's why the OP had a better time when he brought a woman along. Everyone felt more comfortable with his presence.
I was in the Catskill mountains on a job for several months, and got lonely and horny. I spent a couple of hours searching online for swingers clubs within reasonable driving distance that would accept a single man. Club after club said no single men allowed. But finally I found one in Manhattan, two hours away, where single men just had to pay more. Awesome! When I arrived the place was empty, so I took a seat waiting for some swingers to arrive. An hour later another single man came in, and we both waited another hour or more. By then it was 10pm and the place was still empty. This was so weird. Finally I got up to look around, and 3 not very good looking women appeared out of nowhere. And then it hit me: this was a brothel, not a swingers club. I had already paid my $80 entrance fee, and so I had a cheap fuck with the prettiest of the three. My one and only experience of a "swingers club". Gay sex venues like bathhouses and gay sex clubs and gay orgies are so much more fun for a lifelong single bi man--other than my first girlfriend on and off for 5 years and my second girlfriend on and off for 3 years, neither of which swung. At 63 it's just men for me now, thank you.
