‘Trump is inconsistent with Christian principles’: why the Democratic party is seeing a rise of white clergy candidates

    excerpt:

White clergy are deciding to run for office, Ryerse believes, in part as a response to the rise of Christian nationalism and the reality that, according to a Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) survey, Trump won 85% of the white evangelical vote in last year’s presidential election.

Ryerse said: “We realise, hey, our churches and the people in our churches have been duped by this guy and so rather than hope someone else will clean up the problem, what we’ve seen is a lot of pastors respond with, you know what, I’m going to jump in and I’m going to be a part of the solution.

“On a more positive note, there’s also that notion we need to do something for the common good. There’s so much alignment between what I believe personally is good for my neighbour, what it means to love my neighbour, and how that aligns with what public policy ought to be.”

Trump says he's 'sort of made up his mind' on what he wants to do about Venezuela with more than a dozen U.S. warships and 15,000 troops, but he says he can't tell the public what he has 'sort of' decided..

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/15/politics/venezuela-trump-military-what-we-know

    excerpt

“I sort of have made up my mind — yeah. I mean, I can’t tell you what it would be, but I sort of have,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when asked directly about those meetings and whether he had made a decision.

That's why Trump said publicly that he has 'sort of' decided what he wants to do.

Trump is known for taking low-risk tactical activities but ones that look bodacious and boost his ego and image.

He said he 'won' the 'war waters' in California after ordering federal officials dump and squander a few billion gallons of water from dams that was needed by farmers.

Heavily armed U.S. federal agents picking on immigrants is another example. It scores him political points with his supporters. They might be hit in the chest with a sandwich, but it's not likely that significant numbers will be injured or killed (except in their minds by being the victims of 'exploding' sandwiches that they say left a stench of mustard on them, as if it was tear gas or mustard gas).

In contrast, invading Iran would be a high-risk operation, as would sending U.S. troops onto the ground in Venezuela or Columbia to fight drug rings.

The person who threw the sandwich at the agent was acquitted. The felony assault charge was thrown out and a jury trial acquitted him of misdemeanor assault.

Trump has been stretching the limits as to how wide of a scope a pardon has at any crime the person may have committed in connection with the original criminal charges of rioting at the Capitol.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/...d-gun-conviction-five-year-jail-term-00653425

    excerpt:

"Notably, the Justice Department refused to argue that Trump’s pardon extended to a criminal charge related to the discovery of child pornography on the computer of a Jan. 6 defendant in North Carolina, even though the material was discovered during the execution of a search warrant related to the attack. An appeals court in California is still weighing a bid by Jan. 6 defendant Benjamin Martin to extend the pardon to cover his own firearms convictions. But the court agreed to allow Martin to remain out of prison while his appeal is pending.

And another Jan. 6 defendant, Edward Kelley, was recently sentenced to life in prison for conspiring to kill the officers and FBI agents who investigated his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack. Kelley had contended Trump’s pardon covered the conspiracy charge, but the Justice Department opposed him."

Trump pardons one of his rioters again, this time for felony gun charges.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/...d-gun-conviction-five-year-jail-term-00653425

    excerpt:

"Trump had already erased Wilson’s felony conviction for his role in the riot when he issued his Inauguration Day pardon for all of the participants in the attack. But Wilson was one of a handful of Jan. 6 defendants who remained incarcerated for other federal crimes. He was due to be released from prison in 2028.

Trump’s new “full and unconditional” pardon, dated Nov. 14, explicitly references Wilson’s firearms case, which ended with him pleading guilty to two felony gun offenses. Wilson, who has identified himself as a member of the Oath Keepers and Gray Ghost Partisan Rangers militia, had also pleaded guilty for his conduct on Jan. 6, which included a charge of conspiring to impede or injure a federal officer. U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich, a Trump appointee, sentenced Wilson to five years in prison, a sentence that began shortly before Trump took office."

Justice Department quietly replaced 'identical' Trump signatures on recent pardons

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department posted pardons online bearing identical copies of President Donald Trump’s signature before quietly correcting them this week after what the agency called a “technical error.”

The replacements came after online commenters seized on striking similarities in the president’s signature across a series of pardons dated Nov. 7, including those granted to former New York Mets player Darryl Strawberry, former Tennessee House speaker Glen Casada and former New York police sergeant Michael McMahon. In fact, the signatures on several pardons initially uploaded to the Justice Department’s website were identical, two forensic document experts confirmed to The Associated Press."

Trump dumps Greene over Epstein files. He says he will endorse another person for Congress during the primaries.

Trump drops Marjorie Taylor Greene endorsement, calls her a ‘ranting lunatic,' hints at backing primary rival

    excerpt:

President Donald Trump announced Friday night on Truth Social that he is withdrawing his support and endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her a "ranting lunatic" and accusing the Georgia Republican of "complaining" instead of celebrating what he described as his administration’s "record achievements."

    excerpt:

"I haven’t called him at all, but I did send these text messages today," Greene added with screenshots of text messages. "Apparently this is what sent him over the edge. The Epstein files. And of course he’s coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next week's vote to release the Epstein files. It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level."

Peter Navarro on Trump and Rising Prices: “We Are Literally Doing Everything We Can”

    excerpt:

With the screen showing a graphic titled “Grocery Prices Continue to Climb, 1-Year Change” — featuring photos of coffee (up 45%), beef (up 12%), orange juice (up 12%), bananas (up 9%), potato chips (up 8%), and chicken breast (up 5%) — Vittert read aloud from the viewer’s email:

“Feelings don’t matter. Prices in the grocery store do. My bread has risen 50 cents this year. Hamburger is now $8.00 a pound on sale. It was $4.00 a pound on sale last year. I call that a 100 percent increase.”

I've sort of decided that trump is a childish, lying, crooked son of a bitch. He does love the feel of a republican's nose right up his ass, though. :tonguewink:
