Something else important that I also wanted to say to vegans here. I took a comparative religions class in community college in 1997. And they told us Islam has an interesting rule. Muslims are not allowed to prosthelytize. To proselytize means to actively try to convert someone to your religion, belief system, or cause by spreading teachings, persuading them, or offering incentives to join. If someone wants to join, they join by the example you show. And the only way they would know you are a muslim is if they asked. So I say do that, don't proselytize. Instead lead by example. If someone finally asks you why you never have meat when you eat out at restaurants with them, explain only then. And then maybe they will be more likely to join your cause because they don't feel they were coerced.
Vegans, again I talk of proselytizing. It is immoral. Like when a Christian fundamentalist forces your kid to say his prayers. You lead by example and only tell people of your vegan beliefs when asked.
