In a gruesome scene like out of a movie, Rob Reiner's son, Nick, slashed his parents throats and stabbed them to death. He had been in rehab 17 times since he was 15 and had uncontrollable mental health issues. In fact Rob and Nick created a movie based on Nick's experience with drugs and attempts to treat him. While the country mourns a great talent and liberal activist, our president managed to make this horrible tragedy about him, saying Rob Reiner had Trump Derangement Syndrome and insulted him in his official capacity as president. Nick has been arrested and will be charged with murder.
Looks like there's a few other people partly responsible for what happened to Rob Reiner and his wife. It seems Nick was recently given new drugs for his schizophrenia and they were adjusting his dosage. Unfortunately the drugs were not helping, in fact they were pushing him over the edge. He was also abusing drugs as well. So his shrink has some splaining to do. Then the night it all happened, Nick was behaving so badly at Conan O'Brien's Christmas party that some of the guests were going to call 911 for assistance. But Conan said it was his party and he didn't want the police there. So Conan could've prevented the murders, and the shrink could be liable too. I smell a couple of big lawsuits coming.
What do you do when you have a son like that, I wish I knew the answer. What seems odd to me, is that this type of behavior seems largely confined to the US. Other than to meet yourself, Zen and Scratcho, along with spending a few nights at the Metropolitan Opera, I would not have the slightest inclination to visit the USA. Sadly, an increasing number of people in the UK feel exactly the same way. The American Dream, seems to be fast becoming the American Nightmare.
it's the drugs. Some people cannot handle them. Plus coddling the kid too much when they've done wrong.
As per statistics, a significant percentage of homicides are committed by someone the victim knows (acquaintance, friend, or family member), rather than a total stranger. This is true globally speaking. This becomes more volatile when you add alcohol, drugs and easy access to guns. For this reason, I would say every person should have some sort of personal regimen with respect to emotional regulation and self-control, so that they will be able to adequately discipline themselves in those fleeting moments of passion which opens the window to turbulence and conflict.
One major problem is feeding them on junk, until they end up too fat and lazy to socialise. Corn syrup is the biggest culprit. Due to the ease of growing corn in the US, governments decided to use it to replace sugar. The problem is that corn syrup fructose does not TASTE sweet, so 13 times the quantity is required. This floods the blood with sugar, which breaks down into fat, clogging the arteries in the process. US Coke is now totally banned from import into the UK, even in hand luggage. Some people have even had the open bottle that they were drinking confiscated at the airport. We see it as the principal cause of type 2 diabetes. Meanwhile the US have identified conditions classified as types 3, 4 and 5. Research papers on any of this are illegal to publish in the US. I suggested that Coke should make Donald Trump their new poster boy, but that idea did not go down too well. LOL
