A long, long time ago I streaked around the uni campus at night with friends. It was a dare, just a few days before graduation. Unis during the day are teeming with people. At 11pm, only the die-hard students researching their PhDs are around, and too glassy-eyed to believe what they see in the dead of night! Friends come and go, but naturism has stayed with me all this time. I don't need to streak when I am King of the Castle and nude all the time at home.
I did a lot back in my high school days, with both sexes. Was lots of fun. But now have been a nudist about 20 years, streaking takes on a different meaning. So I guess you can say I don't streak any more.
I was in college in the 70’s when kids were streaking. At most schools the goal was to quickly take off your clothes in a public space, then run around as quickly as you could so no one could really have a good look at your parts. At my school, the guys would strip, then dance around, hang around and take their time to make sure they got enough people to view their bodies. Great times!
Cold water alert. I always thought of streaking as the antithesis of nudism/naturism. It's showing nudity as something to be shocking rather than positive. And no, I've never done it, but streaking did not become a fad until I was too old to consider it anything but childish. What would I have done had I been younger?
I was at university in the seventies during the streaking craze. It wasn't something I was tempted to do myself because it seemed to be for attention seekers. That's not my style. Once I saw a woman wearing just her knickers run onto a football pitch in front of forty thousand people at the stadium. It was reported that she was a 34 year old housewife and mother of two, who did it to raise £50 for charity. She said that it was only the second time she'd been to a game and that she thought that she could liven it up. The officials were caught napping and she was able to stay on the pitch for a long time. It was a freezing cold day, but she said she didn't notice the cold due to the adrenaline. My wife dared me to streak at my 50th birthday party. She said that I'd never have a better excuse. It was kind of her to give me permission, but there's no way I'd have done such an undignified thing in front of all our friends. We did eventually streak with another couple in the privacy of our garden when drunk. Without an audience that probably doesn't count. Nevertheless, the adrenaline rush was something else. Is that the reason why people do it? My exuberant wife even did a spectacular naked twirl for us afterwards. What a show off. I'd have expected it of us shameless guys, but it was a big surprise when the ladies stripped too. I'll never forget the sight of their forty plus year old white bottoms as they ran off into the distance. Our friends' teenage daughter was disgusted with us when she found out about it.
