Just Curious: if you are a christian and masturbate

Oh, we had one of those priests. He had his little gaggle of bad boys that just happened to turn out as alter boys.... Evidently, he had quite a reputation before he got there - he was sent to our parish likely to hide and punish him as it was a smaller church in a pretty shitty neighborhood....I remember him once, touching me on the chin and saying "oh I haven't seen you lately....." I was like 12....hell, I'm at communion every week, what are you talking about....oh....what a creep.

 

I was raised to be a Christian... and I still masturbate because it's my dick. That and what is the pastor of my church gonna do if he found out that I masturbate? Throw me out of the church? Declare me a sinner and command me to repent? Pray for my salvation? I understand that Catholics risk excommunication and that's some very serious shite but I'm Baptist and we don't have that rule - but what's funny is that a lot of Baptists thinks it a sin to masturbate when, in fact, it never was a sin. I should go masturbate now...

 

I am Christian & I masturbate daily.

 

I was taught that masturbation was dirty, immoral and a sin which I feel is extremely wrong and abusive to a child because they go through life having to deal with the shame and the guilt of enjoying masturbation. I quit the Catholic religion because of their views ona lot of things, especially masturbation and sex. It took me many, many years to come to the realization that masturbation was completely natural and normal and I would not go to hell because I enjoyed doing it.

 

I think they say it’s bad because they don’t want it to become and addiction and consume you.

I was raised a Catholic and have questioned many things as I got older about the faith and why I should just follow it blindly.

I found it’s OK to believe in God and not agree with everything your faith tells you, it’s good to learn and choose.

I believe if you are a good person and help others that this is what is important.

 

They say it's bad because it's a form of contraception, which is still a no-no in the Catholic Church, last I heard. They are still against anything that doesn't make babies and that includes oral sex, too. It's one of those things that, when you think about how the world was back then and how low life expectancy was, there would be a great need for us to multiply lest we wind up going extinct as a species so... you can't go ye forth and multiply if you're not putting the cum in the pussy. We've since learned how to have babies without having sex, but the old taboos, sins, and admonishments are still alive and well.

I was taught not to question these things... which meant I questioned the fuck out of them because they didn't make sense and how good did it feel to masturbate? Good enough to risk going blind or growing hair on the palms of my hands!

 

I think the important question is: if you are a christian ( or call yourself one) ---how do you support a person like trump, who is the exact opposite of what anyone who adheres to christian beliefs ?

Guess I'm way off base here. Just because trump is a lying, crooked rude, childish, dumb son of a bitch that brags about assaulting women----I can see why christians and others love him. Yeah. Uh-huh. He's a good man that cares about everyone but himself. Excellent example on how to raise ones children.

I'm sure god has quite a task watching the human population to make sure we don't indulge in pleasuring ourselves. That's some serious shit.

It's a shame how organized religion twists the real Bible into controlling edicts. I grew up Catholic; i dont practice it now. Do you like the 10 commandments? Do you read the Bible and get your own feelings? I studied it, googled, etc. There is nothing in the bible about not masturbating. I hope you are feeling better about it now. You did/done nothing wrong.

 

Ha - I remember a 70+ year old priest during the homily at mass, pounding on the pulpit about how sex and masturbation was a sin. And he actually said masturbation...you could hear a pin drop.....I was barely old enough to even understand. They replaced the old coot with a younger pervert, who had his band of misfit boys to tend altar....of course he got away with it all. They'd move him from one rough parish to the next as his cover got 'blown'....

 

Ahh--the cult life. Always a laugh there.

 

Interestingly enough, the pervert priest eventually got to retire and live off of the collection plate until he was 95. Funny how that works.
