While ice is obviously being deployed en masse as a psychological and political tool, what they are tasked with is enforcing the immigration laws by rounding up and detaining people who are in the country illegally.

I am pleased that the law is being enforced and I am even pleased that it is being done as a spectacle to both encourage illegal aliens to leave and to deter others from even coming illegally. The reward for breaking the law should not be a polite and respectful “oh we really wish you wouldn’t do that.” It should be a swift and effective response that both stops the criminal’s behavior and serves as a deterrent to others who are considering the same behavior. To the extent that this deployment is having that effect, I say do it more.

It’s interesting that you think the deployment of soldiers to enforce a federal law that forces white people to let black people attend their schools is laudable (boy hasn’t that sure turned out well) but the use of immigration agents to enforce federal Immigration laws is somehow inappropriate and is the cause of the problem.

Again, I think about our perception filters.

Out of curiosity, out of those here who think that his death that day was not easily foreseeable given the choices he made; would you yourself choose to go to an event such as that, when the demonstrated goal is to obstruct and harass law enforcement, to tie up their personnel and resources and, as necessary, get into physical altercations with them and get yourself arrested; would you then strap on a pistol and spare mags and head off to do this? Hell, I’m a second amendment supporter and a former infantryman who jumped out of perfectly good airplanes, and you couldn’t pay me to do something so stupid.

Immigrants are arrested at less than half the rate of U.S.-born citizens for violent and drug crimes and 25% of the rate of the U.S.-born for property crimes. Contrary to the racist propaganda being spewed by the current regime and boot-lickers like yourself, increases in the undocumented immigrant population is demonstrably associated with significant decreases in the prevalence of violence...not counting that perpetrated by the ICE Gestapo of course.

The whole “racist” label is nothing more than a tool with which to shut down debate and summarily dismiss the opposing view. It has no valid meaning anymore since it was redefined to be something that only “white” people can be guilty of. The left “jumped the shark” with that bullshit and lost all credibility. Furthermore, in the ignorance and inexperience of youth it is easy to accept and embrace the ideal that all people are equal. Time and exposure, and even minimal pattern recognition abilities, will prove that ideal, however noble, to be a delusion.

As to your citation; there is so much money tied up in the immigration industry that, much like any other issue, you can find studies and data to prove whatever you want. “More doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette.” But let’s assume the study you cited was true: I don’t care. They came here ILLEGALLY. Their presence drives up the price of basic necessities of life for everyone and suppress wages for the worst off of our own citizens. In some cases, they bring with them a culture of corruption and extreme tribalism/clannishness that is antithetical with modern western civilization.

We have a legal process to enter and stay in this country. The rules and quantity can be adjusted via the legislative process. These aliens, and the people who facilitate them, chose to enter and/or stay here illegally. We owe them no quarter.

I am certain that the British Government felt the same way about the Stamp Act fight in Massachusetts in 1775. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has referenced this fight in statements concerning Immigration Enforcement. Throwing off that earnest vibe She's mastered. A terrible situation all around.

As for the history of ww2; woo-hoo. So what? Many of my ancestors were involved on our side as well. Some signed up before the US entered to fight under the British flag. Many men sign up for supposedly noble ideals - instilled in them via propaganda. “Make the world safe for democracy” - my ass! The real reason for the conflict is never those given.

History is written by the victors. The “good guys” always win and the “bad guys” always lose. And the reasons we went into any war are always defensive and noble and never aggressive or a false flag (to distract from failed new deal policies and use further debt financing to pump up industry and the economy for the war effort).
