Pen pals (( Pen pals are people who regularly write to each other, particularly via postal mail. I am so old I remember what it was like not being found. If you went out, there was an answering machine waiting for you when you got home - .....And if there were no messages, it was no big deal you just went to sleep and didn't give a fuck.
I am so old I remember having a party line phone, where you would pick up the phone and hear your neighbors having a conversation... then you'd have to wait for them to finish before making your own call.
I’m so old I remember where you lived in a community, everybody knew each other, now there doesn’t seem to be a community and there’s no socialisation. No wonder kids are glued to electronics… What ever happened to games like Kerby?
I remember when we didn't have a phone and the roof leaked so bad we had to set out all the pots in the house to collect the water..
I remember when 15 cents could take you from one end of NYC to the other. Or you could hit every station for that same 15 cents!
I'm so old I remember ...matching avocado green appliances in the kitchen with citrus orange swivel chairs, fake marble formica counter tops and fake wood formica cabinets. And doilies everywhere!
Oh man, @Toker - I remember jumping those turnstiles and riding all around NYC for free! I remember all the funny messages I would get on my beeper and running to a payphone to call someone back. For some reason, people were always beeping me 80085 - lol.
