Vurt by Jeff Noon has got to be the best book known to mankind. Like all good books, it is about mind tripped drugs in the future. The plot is odd and the characters are more so. It isn't terribly long, but it has a wonderful re-read value as it takes more than once to understand everthing. The prequel, Nymphomation explains the creation and purpose of Vurt feathers, but was quite a letdown while the sequel to Vurt, Pollen was almost as good as the original. In the sequel, many people return but a new story unfolds as killing flowers erupt over futuristic Manchester. In Automated Alice, Noon adopts the writing style of Lewis Carrol to create a third installment to the Alice series. In this novel, Alice visits the same places that Vurt took place, also in the same time period. Any of these books are great to read but I reccomend reading them in the order I placed them in this forum.
