How real can the internet really be? Does it exist? Yes, it exists. But why do so many people obsess over it (including myself) and try to meet people online? I think actually meeting people online is better than in person in some ways, such as not knowing what the person looks like, just how they act.
over the internet, there is no possibility of immediate physical or emotional harm. Thats why it is obsessed over
There's that, yes... but, it's an incredibly efficient means of meeting people who share your interests. You kind of meet people in reverse order online.
I think its because you can't really tell if its real. I mean take this forum. I am posting a reply, saying whatever I want. Other people might be viewing my posts... its a little trippy that way, the Internet. Can you imagine a virtual world. Millions and millions of people escaping from the physical one into this virtual form of existence. Its an escape of sorts. A legitimate one. We live our mundane lives , working our nine to five jobs or studying or whatever it is we should be doing. But here, here we can be whoever we want to be. we are free to expose our innermost thoughts without fear of retaliation from the collectives surrounding us or the oppressionist sytems we exist within. On another note... the Internet is just plain cool... all those ones and zeros floating around...
