Hi! Just joined. I was looking for a good, active women's forum, but I see this place has that and much more.

Here's my weird dilema. I have a mole 'down there' but I don't know if the location is considered the inner or outer labia (lips). I know that's very lame, but I'm still young and ignorant, I suppose.

You can't see the mole unless I sort of spread the outer lips open. I know the outer labia has hair. But my mole is RIGHT outside of where the hair stops. Would this be considered the inner part of the OUTER labia or actually the inner labia itself?

Also, does anyone else have a mole 'down there'? I had mine checked out. I'm kinda wondering how common it is.

hey, im pretty sure that would be called inner part of the outer labia, look at the colour and texture of the skin, if its smoother and pinker/darker in colour but not hairy its probably inner part of the outer, basically look at the curves, the outer ones go up in a bump and back in close to your body again, then the inner ones start to appear, i think thats how you can tell, the inner ones are sort of two flaps either side of your vagina and the outer are sort of mounds either side, its really hard to describe it now i try, lol. i have a few little ones, nothing to worry about hun.

Have you had it your whole life, or is it new? If it is new, I would have a doctor or midwife look at it, just to be on the safe side. There is no pigmentation on your inner labia, a "mole" would be highly unlikely.

enigma, thank you for all that. =) lol, trust me, that's the best description I could have gotten over the internet.

Maggie, I couldn't tell you how long it's been there. Not sure. But I did have a derm look at it just recently; she said it looked fine. Why do you say a mole is unlikely?

i have one in that exact spot :p that's funny.... mine's been there for a while, i dont' think i ever really paid attention until i was past puberty, but mine hasn't changed, and i don't worry about the exact location because my gyno sees it and asks me if it's changed at all... all that stuff... mine is flat. oh i also have one on the "mound." *shrug*
