its possible to do, if you have a good amount of clothes on. i dont' think you'd be sleeping in shorts and a t-shirt now. but you could survive the night with a jacket, a good pair of pants, a good shirt, maybe a sweater, gloves and a hat. though, it won't be comfortable, you might go in and out of sleep. i'd try to find some sort of material to put underneath you when sleeping to keep you body heat in, otherwise, your gonna lose body heat from laying on the ground. just sitting in one spot you will get cold. but its possible to do.

Yes you can die from hyperthermia at 30 degrees. If you're planning on being homeless in a big city you have other things to worry about too.

If you have any alternatives for the time being, I'd take them. If not, and if you don't have much $ there's a few things you can do:

See if you can hit up a church for a bus ticket to someplace warm, preferably a small college town somewhere. College towns are generally easier and safer places to be homeless.

If you know anybody anywhere that you might be able to stay with make contact with them and, like I said, try to get a bus ticket from a church or charity--Catholic Charitys, Salvation Army, St. Vincent DePauls Society.

Getting by on the street isn't that big a deal if you know how but first you have to get someplace safe and warm.

Here's a website you might want to join digihitch.com (sorry, don't know how to bring up a link). there are swarms of people there who've been living on the road or on the street for years. you can find pretty much anything you need to know there about living houseless.

I'll help you anyway I can. I've been homeless for over a decade (completely by choice now)and I've got it down pretty well. PM me with any questions you might have anytime.

I've only got about 20mins. computer time left today but I'll be back on tommorow.

People have managed to survive for thousands of years with temps well below 30 degrees, with no electricity to keep them warm. It would be shitty, but I'm sure it'll be okay as long as you stay bundled up.

Even though I've never exactly been homeless, I've lived in some pretty rotten places with no power and all, and I've made it to the ripe old age of 25.

If I were you, I'd invest in a nice pair of thermal pajamas to wear underneath your clothes (sounds cheesy, but they work). If you don't have much money, you could always check out goodwill, salvation army, or other charity thrift stores to see what they have. I don't know what the weather is like up there in mass, but winter is almost over so hopefully you won't have to deal with freezing temps for too long.

I hope you don't end up that way though. There's gonna be alot of shit other than being cold that you'll need to worry about. Don't you have any friends/family you could crash with for a while?

huh. I was under the impression you were a chic (must be the "a" at the end of your name).

Well, that changes things a bit. My advise still holds except I'll add on to it--being on the road beats the hell out of being on the street any day.

If you have to hitchhike to get out of where you are--go for it (would never advise a woman to do this).

Dude, grab some gear--sleeping bag, cpl changes of clothes, can openner--pick a direction and have fun.

Being on the street is a fucked up dead end.
Being on the road is the best kind of life I've ever found.

Like I said, need any info, suggestions or tips leet me know.
