Sand paddles are wheels with special grooves that groab at the sand so it rides better on it. It looks kind of like the paddles on a paddle boat only on tires.
No anger here, just being ornery a bit I guess. I don't mean to offend either by doing that-- I think I've just seen the words "Utah" and "sucks" together too often. And it's a really beautiful place. Again, don't mean to offend, but that's kinda funny that your parents won't let you go to a drum circle when you're a drummer. Not Everyone does drugs there. Actually, it's funny but it pisses me off, too. Mormons are supposed to be about peace and love and acceptance and a personal (not culturalized) relationship with God. I have found if you call them on that and don't back down from how you feel they'll treat you better. If you would, tell them a lot of good mormon boys and girls go there not to do drugs, but to Play Drums! (and you can add a "duh" if you like ) I'm one of 'em. Well, I'm not that good of a Mormon but I try to follow the principles I mentioned above. Oh, and Johnson's Bowl is in Provo Canyon just below Sundance. It's a popular Friday night camping and drumming spot. That's also where the 3 boys got buried in an avalanche last winter. (just above there)
I lived in Logan last year...roomed with 5 Mormon girls.....i really didn't have that big of an issue with Utah...it's such a pretty place -- amazing, if you know where to look But yes, unconventional people do tend to stick out. And let me tell ya, I had a good time educating my roommates on life outside of Utah. Utah's a bubble, but it's a nice bubble.
Doesn't Robert Redford have a home in Northern UT somewhere? I lived in Cedar City,UT for a while in the 80's.
