I didnt even know of this place, and i already a thread about absinthe in the beverages forum haha.

Absinthe is great, its gorgeous, its beautiful.

    I Love it.

For anyone who wants to try it, It Tastes Like Aniseed.

If you dont like Aniseed, i dont think you will like Absinthe.

Man alive i love absinthe, when you get drunk on it, its different to being drunk on booze, its such a weird feeling, its great!

Seriously its not gonna fuck you up, its nice.

As soon as I saw the thread title I knew who made it. :funone:

I've been wanting to try some for awhile, but it's illegal in the US. Maybe when I come over there to visit.

It's not illegal in the US; it's illegal to manufacture and distribute...however, it IS legal to import from other countries (don't you wish other psychedelics had this privelidge?)

There's several companies that distribute absinthe...I'd recommend checking out the Beverages forum for information pertaining to that. ;)

I'm under 21 though, so I assume it would be hard for me to order it?

No, AFAIK, if you have a credit card they don't even ask what age you are (as in most European countries there are no laws regarding minors and alcohol.) Some may have a check-box that says "I am of legal age to purchase alcohol" or something of that nature, but all you have to do is check it.

I know of several minors that have ordered Absinthe; in fact, I'd be willing to bet that people under 18 would be able to mailorder any sort of liquor if they were having it imported...it'd be illegal for you purchase it/posess it/drink it, however, it's highly unlikely that the police would show up at your door because you were importing fancy beer. ;)

yeah but surely they match up the information that you give with your credit card details to the info on your credit card, i.e. age?

    just pay with cash.

They can't "match up" the information on the credit card with your age...just your name and address. Like I said above, since most absinthe is sold in countries where there is no legal drinking age, none of them are required to check to make sure you're of legal age to drink.

    Paying with cash? Bad idea.

That sounds like you're just presuming alot of that.

Where are these places where Absinthe is made and there is also no Legal Drinking age?

Absinthe originally comes from France, im pretty sure there is a drinking age there...

Sounds like you're talking aload of rubbish to me.

I dont see how paying with cash through the post is a bad idea compared too giving your name, age, address and credit card details whilst underage to some company.

    http://www2.potsdam.edu/alcohol-info/LegalDrinkingAge.html

If you're under 16 and have a credit card you really shouldn't be spending your money on booze.

They already have your name and address...they presume you are of the legal age to drink in your country, and if for some odd reason they decided against shipping your order (by spending large amounts of money to have your government verify that you are NOT of legal drinking age), then they could simply keep the cash, whereas with a credit card you can have the payment appealed.

Just FYI...France isn't the only country that sells Absinthe. ;)

I try absinthe when I had christmas present of it and although it was good for making me feel drunk I did not experience the halucinations. These are mythical I think.

it's illegal in the UK to purchase alcohol from a store until you're 18, and it's illegal to drin outdoors in a public place,
but from the age of SEVEN you can drink alcohol in your own home with adult supervision.
so with that in mind, if you ordered it (maybe with an 18yr old's credit card) and it was shipped to you, then you could sign for it and no one would know really.

you haven't commited an offence (i think, i'm not too knowledgable on US laws).

i'm 18 now but i ordered absinthe from Switzerland and France when i was 16 and had no problems at all.

There are a couple of american absinthes but they are expensive and I think they're so-so, St. George is made real near here. if you want somthing cheap that tastes decent Herbsaint is an american wormwood free sinthe (pastis) that is pretty easy to find. my momma got me some spanish sinthe called obsello which turned out to be pretty good.
