The Freshman by Verve Pipe. i played this song a thousand times when my friend died in december

When I was young and knew everything
And she a punk who rarely ever took advice
    Now Im guilt stricken,
Sobbing with my head on the floor
Stop a babys breath and a shoe full of rice

    I cant be held responsible
Cause she was touching her face
    I wont be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place

For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and
    Wed never comprimise
For the life of me cannot believe
We?d ever die for these sins
    We were merely freshman

My best friend took a weeks
    Vacation to forget her
His girl took a weeks worth of
    Valium and slept
Now hes guilt stricken sobbing with his
    Head on the floor
Thinks about her now and how he never really
    Wept he says

Weve tried to wash our hands of all of this
We never talk of our lacking relationships
And how were guilt stricken sobbing with our
    Heads on the floor
We fell through the ice when we tried not to
    Slip, wed say

blackbird by the beatles is one of the most obscurely connective songs to me. It was the first song id ever actively listened for the first time while stoned too.

Interesting. S&G is my happy music :D If I'm in a bad mood, I crank up "The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine".

As for the saddest song, I think I'd have to go with "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin. "Last Kiss" is also pretty sad. (I can't remember the original artist, I know Pearl Jam did a cover of it)
