I think in part, you are right in saying that pot is illegal because it cannot be taxed. The thing is, if pot were to be made legal, one would simply have to grow it, seeds don't cost much, and you'd have enough for however long you'd need it. Maximum cost - 100$ for multiple plants, watering, lamps, etc...

On the other hand, the gov't and private/corporate industries make a lot of money busting, grabbing and re-selling. Hence why their interests rest in keeping it illegal - to my knowledge... this is a pretty rundown version though, i'd like to converse with someone who knows a little bit more backed with some factual information...

    MG,

Tobbacco seeds only germinate in direct light- so the birds eat 'em. Not to mention they're half the size of a flea and nearly impossible to deal with.

Every catterpillar around will eat the plants.

The young shoots (up to about 3') are so delicate they break off and die if you look at them harshly.

Curing them is a race between removing the green and the tendency to turn to goo.

    Weed's a much better grow.

Geck,so tobacco surviving propagation is subject to every variable imaginable thru its entire life cycle and then again at harv/cure!That leads me to believe it would be next to impossible in alot of geographical locations as well.Intresting! Thanks
