Quote: I love hot stuff--anybody else ever try Dave's Insanity Sauce?

One time a friend of mine wanted everyone to leave his house at about 4 am so he put some insanity sauce in a frying pan and turned it one high. It woorked like pepper sray, everyone was running out covering their eyes and nose :D

Sorry to hear about the Californization of NM. People here wish they lived in California.

Well I am glad I live in California...

My brother lives in Santa Fe and everything he makes is with peppers. Once the burning goes away he is all set to get some more habaneros.

I think that Santa Fe is beautiful. But I don't like how half of it is extremely rich and the other half is dirt poor. It seems much more divided than most places I've been.

I believe you -- I was surprized at the home prices there(Farmington), how they're not much different from Denver, and for what? The town seemed pretty nice, although I've only been there once for an evening and next morning. It's just kinda far from anything else, except Durango.

I swear, we really need to secede from the rest of California. Everyone has a bumper sticker that says something like "Don't SoCal Humboldt" and things like that.

That definitely does NOT sound like fun Marie. I like spicy food, but spicy food within reason.

the fact taht it's pretty far from everthing else is kinda why it's getting so expensive and suburbanized. the town in beautiful, i think. but it's become the regional center. people come here for everything. every time the connie mack world series or high school finals rodeo shows up here, 3000 more families move in. now they're trying to get a minor league baseball team. but you've got all the rivers, mountains, desert camping, hot springs, all the shopping you can poke a credit card at, and it's killing me.

That sucks -- kinda lose that 'small town' feel. The town where I live has nearly tripled in population in the last 10 years, and ALL the big name retailers have moved in, too.

My ex-BIL is big into kayaking, climbing, etc, so it's perfect for him, and it's close to Moab. My sister hates it, so she'll be out of there soon, maybe.

I was at this local restaurant here... on a lake, and they had huge jars of what looked like dilled pickles... so I took one out, gave it a BIG bite......and, yep............................................... I was holding ice in my mouth the rest of the day....

we were at a graduation party at my mother in law's house, and there was this bowl of peppers. everyone grabbed a couple to eat, since they looked like good, spicy, flavorful pickeled peppers. there's a bowl of these with every meal out here. but they turned out to be so spicy that even the people here couldn't eat them. i did, though. all you needed to do was to make sure you ate some creamy dressing or milk. they really tasted good, though. the flavor, once the spiciness was drawn away a bit by the fat in the cream, influenced every other bite of food you had. was yummy.

You sure can! You can get it at fast food joints, and you can order green chili on your pizza at all the popular pizza chains (Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, etc.).

Santa Fe is REALLY nice. But also REALLY expensive. I was shocked when I first went up there, because I thought things in Albuquerque were high! But the beautiful scenery up there makes up for it. Albuquerque is grotesque. At least I think it is. The nicest part of this city is the mountains...which aren't really part of the city at all.

I'm with you there Ginge, Albuquerque is hideous. I was not impressed.

For some reason, it really amuses me to hear about peoples' bad experiences with peppers. My brother was also telling me about the first time he got high, and this this guy gave him some nachos, and he had put a whole bunchy of hot peppers in it, and my brothers head went numb after eating it and he started freaking out because he thought it was the weed and he thought he was going to die.

That's cool -- I wonder what the delivery charge to Denver would be? LOL

So true. As soon as I got in town, I just wanted to get the hell out. Only city I've been in that I disliked more was Las Vegas.

Yeah, just be glad you weren't born and raised in this hellhole (Albuquerque). I'm dying to get out. The only thing keeping me here right now is the fact that I'm only one year away from graduating from UNM. But as soon as that's over and done with, I'm out of here. There is not one good thing about this city at all.

Hipster, I'd mail you some green chili pizza if I could. LOL I'm actually eating a burrito with green chili right now. Nice and hot..yum!
