( readyness to protest in an instants notice ) later the mind tired flwoer child
Freight Train, Baby! Thanks for loving me. It means a lot to this old woman. It always has. I had a 55 chevy Bel Air, 4 door, with a 283 small block engine. Ken and I threw a racing cam and valves into it, had it bored down. But other than that, we didn't do a whole hell'u'va lot with it. I could get 20 bales of hay into and on it quite regularly. I carried my hogs and calves to market in the back, after we took the back seat out. I sold it to a Chevy Freak before I ruined it totally. Ken asked the kid for $600. I only paid $200 for it in '79, so we fought like wolverines about the price. I ended up givin' it to the kid for $500. Ken was so pissed at me that he didn't speak to me for 2 weeks. Love Ya, Baby. Sam Not mine... mine was green and white. But you get the idea.
Hmmm....well we do have a lot of Beatles records and CDs, but then both my son and daughter have just as many and they aren't "old" by any means. I barely know what a 401K is. Maybe I'm just old and stupid. :& Teepi I just checked out your gallery......such beautiful and whimsical work! You have inspired me. I have been doing the outdoor arts and music festivals this summer. They are fun and I enjoy the people watching. I've met some great peaceful folks in the process. Unfortunately I've barely made enough $$ to make it worth my while. I have, however, learned a lot about presentation, booth set-up, and sharing space with other folks. So I guess the experience has been valuable, but I'm itching to get back to my loom and create. My daddy had a '57 chevy when I was a kid. I remember my brother spray painted it (he thought he was helping dad out by giving it a new paint job!) My father was not amused to say the least!
PEace Sam, your colors are better then mine to say. mine is mohogany brown and white! the interior maches it to so i cant nor do i want ot change paint job! i dont have $8,000 to spend on paint! right now anyways. later the tired flower child p.s. your bro painted a 57! hehe dad must have been upset!
I mailed the Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam t-shirt I promised you yesterday. You should recieve it on wednesday or thursday of next week. Keep up the good work....
teepi, you do not sound strange to me at all,and as a matter of fact, you sound like one of the smartest people Ive ever seen on this site. Right on to your way of life!
Old Hippies have MONEY? Where's mine? LOL! It isn't about all that. It's how you FEEL about the issues, and each other in general.
Hey there WE1, The question of who is what is a tad beyond me,and in that respect I can offer no answers.I suppose that you wouldn't be on this site if you were not that way inclined in the first place. But then, anyone can sign up and contribute to this site,so that doesn't offer much in the way of evidence either.I'm still wondering why there needs to be the distinction between young and old.Another thought that keeps crossing my mind is the question of at what point does an individual go from being young to old.A further extension of this thought is with regards to the concept of being a hippy in the first place. Is there a definite line that distinguishes a hippy from someone who is not one? And,since when are we concerned about money? If you are lucky enough to have the bucks,go out and enjoy yourself. The memories that you'll have after the concert will be worth a lot more than $250.Go for it. Love and peace to you, Feralking.
the hippies were a lsd drug sub-culture started by ken kessey, if you want to know if you are a hippy maybe you should read "the electric kool-aid acid test" by tom wolf, and ask yourself if you could pass the test. money and materialism (concert tickets, CDs, how much they cost, and so on) has nothing to do with being a hippy.
HaAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA -Boy, *wiping away the tears* I have to say I did pay $150 each to see C,S,N & Y a few years ago, but NEIL YOUNG was there and I could see his face!, need I say more? And it was worth it - Great concert!
it only cost me about $70 to see John Fogerty in Copenhagen last night and that was a great show, of course i was the only one there stinking up the place with some home grown.
Timothy Leary once said, "Total paranoia must be close to total awareness". (he was chased by the feds most of his life)
You're the LAST person whom should ask this! I know what you did for Josh. That makes ya the Hippiest in my book! Know it or not, you saved a life Angelgodiva and myself were fighting for.
