I have been wondering what is the longest some good ol' dope can be stored before it depletes and becomes unsmokable...I just had a phenomenal harvest of TW, WW, and some SIR. I have jarred it and don't smoke like i used to and want to hang on to it. I just blazed some Trainwreck stored for 3 months and it was great. I know it slightly decomposes potent wise but at what rate?Anyone stored longer and smoked?????
For what it worth: I found a bag of weed that had been stored in a baggie in a box of nick-nacks for 6 years once... It was DRY- but still turned the trick. Once I found a bud behiind the funiture that was about a year old, not wrapped in anything, and not much good for anything, ethier.
in a poorly sealed baggee active alkaloid content has found to decompose at a rate of 50% per year. The factors that could extent this rate would be limiting air contact, vacuum sealing or sealed jars, and store in a dark place. Im sure you could take it down ideally to less than 25% a year, thats just an educated guess though.
If buds are cured the long slow way,non physco active alkloids become physco active increasing potency and if stored in a cannining jar and placed in a cool dark place after properly storing, the high is as good 1 year later and dam near as good 2 years later. There is little or no decomposition of alkaloids while stored properly if a proper cure was given!
Thanks guys, thats good to know.....It's good to know i will be stocked up for the next year or more!
