I'm fairly new to the forums and have not seen a heavy-music thread yet, so I figured I'd throw up a flag and see who waves back. I'm a metalhead. I enjoy the independent, free-thinking, no-holds-barred attitudes and release of energy. My favorite bands are Metallica, Black Label Society, Down, Overkill, Drian STH, Superjoint Ritual, COC, Pantera, Crowbar...and others Outside of metal I like Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Refreshments, Kid Rock, classical compositions, and others.... I joined this forum cuz I like the open-ness of everyone and free-thinking attitudes towards life. Thanks broes. Peace. Rock.
Im not really a big fan of metal, but i dont mind it. But i have no idea why no one has replied to this thread, there has been heaps of threads about metal.
Hey dude. There are quite a few people on the forum who listen to metal actually. Im one of them. I like early metallica, iron maiden, Nightwish, lacuna coil, the gathering,Madder Mortem, arch enemy, anthrax and loads of other bands. I love black metal bands like Satyricon, Darkthrone, Marduk, Abigor, Mayhem, and doom metal bands like My Dying Bride, Mourning beloveth, Novembers Doom, Morgion and Lacrimas Profundere. These are my most preferred metal genres but of course I also greatly enjoy bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, God Dethroned, Vader, Behemoth, Kreator... Metal threads spring up every once in a while. There are hardly any people around who share my tastes even among the people who enjoy metal so it's rather futile for me to start any. Maybe I will some day and convince people to the fact that nothing beats a nice bit of churchburning, christraping black metal.
There was actually a black metal thread on the forum a good while ago actually, and there were loads of replies! I think you were just a little unlucky that you missed it, man. You should maybe start another one up anyway and see what happens - you may get a good response, you never know. peace and love xxxxxx
I guess that was before my arrival here? Too bad. I know there's a few who like black metal, but they don't really seem to show up that much, or at least leave almost no traces or something. But thanks for alerting me on it. There's hope yet! I've just before responding to your reply called on all metal people here if they'd want to discuss metal some more, and if a general metal thread would be a good option. I hope it'll help to stimulate indepth discussion..
I like early metal... Budgie (some of their stuff counts as metal), Iron Maiden, Manilla Road, Metallica, Pantera (okay, not so much early, but good enough), etc.
I'm glad to see there are at least a few of us out here. Like I said, I'm new to the boards and had not seen a metal-thread in my first 4 days. I'm always up for a good metal discussion. Rock.
