Does ANYBODY else get these infomercials with this Esteban ass trying to sell his crappy acoustic guitar. As a serious guitar player, he should be SHOT for going WAAAAAAYYY over poor non-guitarists heads by saying things like: "This guitar is better than my 5,000 dollar guitar (A MARTIN D-28!!) because look at how much more it shines" MORE LAQUER!?!?! OOOOOOOOOHHHHH....that's why my unlaquered Martin sounds so warm and full...acoustics are SUPPOSED to sound like tin cans. "Plug this guitar into the included amplifier and press the overdrive button and you can play heavy metal like the pros! No need for an acoustic and an electric, you get both in one!" I'm not even gonna comment.....i don't have to. "Included with this guitar is BRONZE strings (he says it like bronze is an unusually nice string material), and a professional padded gig bag just like the pros use! Become a pro with three easy payments...." I'm done. Nothing else to say. I feel bad for people who fall for it because they'll find out in about a month that they bought total crap....and its not even cheap!!! One guitar is like 350 bucks! If anybody just happens to run into this tool, beat him over the head with his guitar and take the D-28 for me. If I see that friggin ad one more time I am gonna take that laminated spruce p.o.s. and smash it over estebans face and steal his D-28 after... "This guitar is made of REAL SPRUCE wood" Taylor, Martin, Gibson, Alvarez, Ibanez, Larivee, Guild, Fender, Takamine, Washburn, Carvin, Breedlove, and just about every other company that makes ACCOUSTIC guitars all use spruce. It is the most commonly used wood for accoustic guitars Warmoth doesn't list it because Warmoth only deals with ELECTRIC guitars. meh.... you know that there's some grandmother out there that misses a grandchild and buys that for them... I've had it up to here with Esteban.
I've seen them before. Everytime I see it I laugh very very hard. I haven't had a guitar in about three years and want another really bad. I would never by one of Estaban's though. Never.
I'm not all knowledgable about guitars or anything, but ive seen his commercials, and he does really sound like a conman.
Ahhhhaahaah... I see I'm not the only one who is creeped out/sickened by the man... ohhhhh sweet mamma gladys, thanks for reminding me I can't stand his nails.. ahha.
My boyfriend's mom bought him one. He joked around about giving it to because I break every acoustic guitar I get (the one I have now has had the same two strings broken every single time I restring it).
that guy really freaks me out, it makes me wonder if the real reason he keeps his nails long is cause he likes the cocaine, haha
Good question. =P No big deal... it's not like I can actually play it and I'm not the type that can learn an instrument just by reading books, but if I could afford lessons I'd get lessons on my bass first (which I can actually play and hold SOME dignity). I got my acoustic for my 8th birthday on my dad's whim so it's kind of crappy to begin with. Whenever anyone tries to teach me on theirs, I break their strings as well because I'm cursed.
Haha, I don't read books either. Hell, I can't even read music. I improvise it. Everything... I take the basic chord structures and I know what it feels like and what it should sound like before I play it. I know no music theory. I've taken about five guitar lessons and had a big disagreement with my teacher, then I walked out mid-session without paying him. On top of that, I play about a dozen instruments... You just need to learn to control your attack... And try using a heavier string guage, but not something too hard on your fingers. I'm the same way. I can't play with a light guage. I use .13s... usually D'Addario Chromes or Pyramids. My favorites are Ernie Ball .12s (on electric). I like Elixers on my acoustic. All lessons did was piss me off because it just wasn't the way I learned. To each their own, but I'd rather just look up tablatures on the internet and not give a crap if they're correct or not because as don't rely on being note for note. I just pick a song... whatever feels interesting at the time, look at the basic chords and play it improvised/by ear/memory from hearing it... I'm mostly into improvised stuff. Whenever I play with a regular band, it's so uptight. I play with this bluegrass band once a year and we don't have a setlist. We just name a song and then see what the reaction is and if people can remember it and then screw around with it... I love it.
