It's very cool. Kinda reminds me of The Matrix or Vanilla Sky. I think it's Jim Carrey's second-best movie after Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
I caught a few minutes of it here and there tonight, and saw it when it came out. I'm with Duck, it's good, but not great. A Clockwork Orange, Jacob's Ladder, Naked Lunch, and even Altered States blew my mind way more. The Temptation of Christ too. And 'The Thing' remake actually scared me, which is probably the only movie since I was a kid that did so.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! that would be me tonight as well! although i do have it on dvd as well. i love this movie! its amazing to think that when this movie came out, reality tv was just starting to get big.. and so many desperate people are glued to there tvs each night watching these pointless, mindless blabber shows. just to catch a glimps to find out what other people are doing in there life, and what they have or dont have..
It was an unusual film. Made me feel a bit paranoid for some time. Does anyone think that it's responsible for breeding all these scum TV reality shows that have invaded the TV's worldwide? I agree with Blackguard's selection of infinitely better films and would like to add Being John Malkovitch to that list.
Spooky spooky!! I was talking about the truman Show just this afternoon. My feeling that it is right alongside The Matrix as a near perfect metaphor of reality. The more you know, the less you know, the more you need to know!!
I like it. I havent seen it in a long time though.....It kind of freaked me out when I first saw it because I was like...this could really happen....
What would you guys say if I were to write that "The Truman Show" is actually based on a very real occurrence? Another film worth mentioning "The End Of Violence" from director Wim Wenders
I was watching it earlier today and I noticed a mistake. If they were trying so hard to stop him from finding out how come when he was parked in his driveway they didn't stop the loop after he saw it, especially the second time?
yeah, this movie was pretty thought provoking. it's kinda like 1984 in a "big brother is watching" sort of way... i dont think this would happen though, tv stations wouldnt do it because it would be rather boring for people to watch, honestly...experiences are better felt than seen.
I liked matrix better. But Truman Show was an Awsome film. Wwwhhoooaa!!! just thinking about the truman show it came to me that, we sometimes think life surrounds us, until we realize that were just another piece of the world. WWhhoooaa!! I like that movie so much more know, thanks man!!!t
