I have been thinking that it would be good for me to take part in communal living but I have a few problems
    1. I am 19 years old and don’t have many qualities that would help (I could learn though)
    2. I have no license or car
    3. I have about $90 to my name right now and I will only be able to swing $60 more in the next two weeks
    4. I live in a small town in NC and have never been many other places so I am kind of naïve when it comes to…a lot and I don’t want to end up with one of those brainwashing cult-like communes
Can anyone give me any advice? Please? I really am at a loss at what I should do at this point.
    Thank you so very much

Bring the will and we would pave the way. You'd have to be stayin with someone, me and brandon will have 2 spare rooms, if you were joinin our commune with only 160$, til we could save enough to build you a place, probably by spring 2006. You would have to hold out till mid-late May though. I think that's about all us at ethno-eco project could do for ya, maybe willpower will ring in with some further idea's on this one, but I think we could definitely help you out if you could wait. Don't worry about the lack of money/skills. Skills can be learnt, and money can be found or avoided, all that matters to us is the will for another way.

www.freewebs.com/ethn-eco/ is the website willpowers got pretty well outlined what we'll be all about

Well can anyone tell me why they decide to embark on this?

I want to make sure it is right for me...I just want to hear what other people have to say on it

because the way we live is not the right way, people no matter how selfless in this society contrive against there fellow man in some form, whether it be the self-righteous spite of a DEA agent, the exploitations of an uninformed market by corperate giants, or the leaching of an inpassionate and passive political base by politicians, our society has grown deeper into opresseion with the rise of a general passive outlook in a representative based democracy, as a people we have lost our identity and forgoton the passions of those who fought for these lands, we have become so engrosed in materialism and distracted by commercialism. In the end who are we to say that we deserve to live are lives producing 5 times times as much waste as 80% of the world.

Through all this the question arises what is one to do to live better? Well when the majorities views are based on a media of editorializing of the opinion of the majority, the minority can but live as example and hope others might follow to see the light. Even the reason of science has become slave to grammer and politics.

In the end the grand scheme of the revolution here comes is state of mind, Do we fear or do we love? Do we as beings feel we are one with the world around us and are obligation to it is as great as it's deliverance to us(nearly impossible to realize living the industialized lifestyle)? Or are we beings of our own seeking how we can exploit the most out of the world, shape it to our desires with max yeild, full steam ahead philosophy, become to obcessed by weakness and bring ourselves meaninglessness?

If this sounds rather off the top and warped just remember all it is that we seek is a better way.

I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country.
As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow,
and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices
of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed.
I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war.
