I like some of their stuff a lot, and then I really dislike some of it as well...can be a little to whiny and emotional at time and just right at others.

Saw them once and it was great, and the next time was awful.

Lover I don't have to Love, You are the Roots, Perfect Sonnet etc are great though...

and that song that goes "onto the stage, i was pushed, with my sorrow well rehearsed so give me all your pity and your money" is awesome too

Theyre good but then it was printed somewhere that oberst could be the next Bob Dylan and that really made me mad

I really like Fevers and Mirrors. They're one of my faverioute bands, but I don't like the new stuff that much.

I love Bright Eyes. <3 They played near where I live the other week and I missed 'em, was devastated. =|
    My favourite songs are:
A Scale, A Mirror And These Indifferent Clocks
    From A Balance Beam
A Line Allows Progress, A Circle Does Not
    Bowl Of Oranges..

    Etc, etc. =|

why? it's a double compliment: Dylan is the singer songwriter benchmark and these folks are almost that good.
although it could be lazy speaker/writer
Dylan is matched by many not as well known singer-songwriters (Kate Wolf, Townes Van Zandt) but everyone knows his name.

i love bright eyes. i hope the next album oberst puts out is like i'm wide awake its morning, i liked that one better then digital ash in a digital urn. anyone hear a collection of songs from 1995-1997? he recorded the album in his basmenet, i thought it was pretty cool.

i am just getting into bright eyes, so i'm digging it. i'd have to agree he's no dylan, but that comparison isn't even useful to anyone anyways, they're both completely different.

p.s. bright eyes isn't a band, its just connor with a rotating musical cast

i think they are one of the greatest thing to happen to music in a long time. oberst is an amazing lyricist but its not right to say hes the next bob dylan cause no one can do that but the bright eyes still are amazing.
