Well, the Senate passed it, but it isn't final. I don't know the ins and outs, but I hear there are still a few hurdles to clear. Keep your fingers crossed!

By the way, artsy_freak, that's a beautiful picture in your sig, where is that?

i saw this in the paper as well :(:(
was very disappointed, i signed the online petition against it and everything... they say the animals will be caused minimal harm i think i read, and it still has a few more stages in the process (like trippin said) so there is SOME hope i guess. its passed before but clinton vetoed it, or did he veto it before it pass?idk i should pay better attention, bush is a fucking bimbo though...

shouldnt we get some greener energy source technology going though instead of continuing to greenhouse gas the planet with all the planets oil at one time.......

The wars against the dark, poor, women, gays, political dissidence, and fair trade weren't fun enough, so now it's time to step up the war on the environment.

Oh, so NOW'S the time, is it? Are you sure? Don't you want to wait wait until Alaska is 95% destroyed?
I'm sorry to make you a scapegoat Carzy P, just my sense of humour. But seriously. Didn't the Edward Abbey quote go "Sentiment without action is the ruin of the soul?" I alos think it's akin to doind diddly squat and sitting back and actually applauding what's going on. Oh shit, oil drilling, we say as we climb into our cars. Or our buses. that's right! I'm, shitting on public transit! Hell yeah!!
I shouldn't judge. You dont know what it is I'm up to outside these forums, and I don't know what you;re up to, but we're damned if it isn't...well, you know.

Why do we have to keep destroying all the natural beauty the earth has? Alaska is one of the few untouched lands in the USA, why do the politicians have to go ahead and spoil it? If people did more carpooling and stopped buying SUVs and other such gas guzzlers then we wouldn't need to drill a wildlife reserve for oil. there's going to be an oil spill that's going to wipe out a whole bunch of animals, I just know it. Its like when humans first started going to the galopagos Islands. Now there's poor Lonsome George the last of his spiecies of turtle. That's going to happen in Alaska, its going to cut down on those poor creature's natural habitats!
