I think we find fatty foods tasty ... not because of any of those reasons, but rather because we are conditioned into a society that eats them. Think about it; other cultures in other parts of the world consider what we eat to be "too sweet" and "too greasy" and such, to the point where they don't really like it. I believe it's (mostly) based on taste bud conditioning.
I think that taste is down to environmental factors. If you grow up in a family where spicy food is enjoyed, and you are brought up with spicy food, you'll develop a taste for spicy food. likewise with meat.
i also think its definatley how we were conditioned to eat, hell up until just recently i had never even questioned where hamburgers or any meat came from, i just ate it and did what i was told and raised to do. i think if we listened to our real hunger, and what our body truely wanted, we wouldnt be so desirefull of the 'yummy fatty oil' taste...
I don't know about meat, but fats/oils in general are appealing to humans because they are the most energy-dense food sources and allowed for efficient eating in times of survival. Or so i've been told.
yeah, kind of what like lace and feet said-fatty food are the most energy dense foods. However, i think that meat it artificially conditioned, kind of like cheese. I love cheese, but I have an Asian friend who can't stand cheese, because its fairly new to her. Like, meat eating parents have their kids eat meat from the beginning. Kids that are vegetarian from the beginning don't really like it. I never really liked hamburger. Ive only been a vegetarian for a year, but already I find the smell of meat unappetising....i can't even stand the fake stuff!!! However, i love poptarts, and i gueass those are pretty fatty....and macaroni and cheese!
