Actually, I'm a Christian that'll admit that the only reason that Xmas is on the 25 of December is because the Pagan holiday Yule is around that time (the Winter Solstice).

What better way to win converts than steal their holidays?

 

i dont exactly understand why they are wise.
did they do anything wise, or did they just give jesus some presents...

 

They were just some gentlemen from the East with positions of import.

The only reason that they are considered "wise" is because they recognized the importance/influence of Christ and honored him, even though it was not inherent to their culture to do so.

So, I guess whether they were really "wise" is really up to the individual that judges their character.
