Here is the thing I am a week late and taken one test which came back negative? Should I have waited to take it or are chances high that I am not pregnant?
If you are SURE you are a week late, the chances are that IF you were pregnant, you would have tested postive by now. Give it an other few days and test again. If you still test negative and haven't gotten a period, I would see your doctor. The tests are very accurate, but if you are off with your dates, or have irregular periods, it could be early for the test to test positive.
Do you have any other symptoms? Remember to take the test with first morning pee, the pregnancy hormones are the most potent then. I would wait a few more days before you test again. Either way, then see a doctor.
If yuo get a clear blue or First response you will know any time of the day a week before your missed period and they are very accurate... I was a day late and It showed a nice positive with my second one. I was 4 weeks with my first and it showed up in like a second lol (That was clear blue though) First response is super fast too my Sister-Inlaw found out right away with it... Thanks... yeah I tried First Response so I am thinking I am negative, but I will test again next week if I am still late so I will post with the results of that! I thought I was supposed to get my period on June 1 but I could be off only because my period was totally off last month.
yea, Be sure to let us know! With both of my kids, no pregnancy test came up positive till I was like in my 4th month! I had to have blood test.. But I would give it a little more time.
Yeah I think I'll wait another week or two. I have a feeling I am but with no positive test it feels like I shouldn't say anything and because I don't have health insurance ( well none unless I go with the whole asking my mom for my card stuf) I can't go to the dr. for a blood test so I guess I'll just have to wait it out. Which is hard right now since my life would have to go the opposite way I am planning right now.
Many Planned Parenthood clinics will do blood test preg tests for free or a very reduced charge. If you are sure you will keep your pregnancy, those "pregnancy crisis" centers often do free tests, too. DON'T go there if you plan on not continuing the pregnancy, cuz they usually are pretty anti abortion. (My sister was too poor for a preg test once, and went to one carrying a Bible and they didn't bother her with the antichoice propaganda, though. But some of them do dirty tricks like show you pictures of 16 week fetuses and tell you it is a 3 week fetus and things like that, so I wouldn't use this option unless you really need to know and are sure you are not going to need to abort.) sometimes if you haven't been sexually active for a hile then begin again your cycle will get messed up.... i used first response the day (well, that night....) i was supposed to get it and there was a really dull pink line. i decided to wait and do it again in the morning and it was freeking purple. then i decided to get a free blood test because i was in denial.... then, wha-la...i have the most amazing 2 year old you could imagine.... a lot of women know when they are pregnant....its different than just a scare..... try again soon (first thing in the am for the best results) and let us know how it goes!
Oh,that happened to me. When I was pregnant with my first, I was 19, and went to the Pregnancy Center to get a free test. They read Bible scriptures to me! I was like, Uh I just want the test, thanks.
that is sooooo helpful, NOT. grrrrr, even though i hate abortion (am uncomfortably pro choice though) i think these tactics are disgusting, if a woman has to make the hideous decision to end a pregnancy the last thing she needs is full on guilt trips. anyway, i think your descision to wait a while then test again is the right one, as unfortunatly a lot of the symptoms of early pregnancy are very like those caused by a delayed period, tender breasts, mood swings, belly cramps, spotting. it sucks having to wait but a few more days should tell, i never had to go through that as i tested the day i was due on (on the off chance, thought it was possible but wasnt really worried, was at the supermarket and thought, oh, i guess i should test really, lol) and although it was only a weak line, two clear blues later that i sent my partner to get whilst hopping up and down in state of shock (also weak lines) convinced me! good luck.xxx
