Some people have met their lifetime love in some of the oddest places. I've heard of people meeting them at car accidents, airports, taxi cabs and the grocery store. Hell maybe even someone met theirs right here at Hip Forums!! Question is where did you meet yours? An unusual place or circumstance? Just curious!! :sunglasse
We met at work! I guess it's not that weird, except that I was supposed to be the only student that summer, and then the other one got hired ... Actually the whole story is over in the Relationships forums in Kayla's thread about dating someone who's a friend.
Here on the forums. I wasn't expecting to find her here, it just happened and I couldn't be happier. it has been a very intense experience and a major adjustment because of the nature of how we met and all of the obstacles that we have had to overcome. I fell in love very quick with her and ever since she has occupied the biggest part of my heart. There have been hard times and doubts. Not really doubts, that's the wrong word, but disbelief that it would be possible for this relationship to work because of the great distance between us. But she is the perfect girl for me and I don't ever want to live without her and if I'm a lucky man, I'll never have to. lynsey I love you
I met my man at his work at the time, (pacific sunwear). not too weird but it was a interesting meeting..... I fell for him the second I saw him.
my ex, we met in middleschool and didnt start dating until sophmore year... so we were high school sweetheart, i guess. 4 and half years later, im single again. it was a needed break and a good experience all n' all... no major regrets i guess. now, im not really looking for love, but if it were to come knocking on my door, i would let it int.
I had just turned 17 years old and I was a senior in high school doing a work study program at a pychiatric center when I met the love of my life. He was 21 years old at the time, and he ran the office. At first, we were the best of the friends, but after a few months, I started to feel more for him. I was in love. I decided to tell him that I had feelings for him more than just a friend, to just let it out, and here he had been feeling the same way towards me. We began dating then, and about 2 years later, we were engaged, and a year after that, we were married. We have been together for 9 years now and it seems like every year with him gets better. I'm now going on 27 years old and he 31, and we have three beautiful children together, a 5 year old little boy and 22 month old little boy and girl twins. Life is good.
When I was 19 I was traveling on the Amtrak for several weeks.... I was on the last leg of my trip in Austin TX, and found a Black Uhuru show at the Mercado Carribbe (bar that allowed venders) Well I was seriously getting homesick, and pretty much decided to call Amtrak that night and go home early. Instead I found my love at that bar. He was doing hairwraps, drinking a Mambo...I asked about the price, he offered me a free one, bought me a beer....We left halfway thru the show and hitch-hiked to Sam Houston National forest, in search of a Rainbow Gathering that we never found,,,we spent 3 daze in the woods, eating granola and peanut butter, drinking wine and lovin every minute. It felt like we were always together. I got back on the train, went home (only thing that happened there was I got into a house fire, maybe I should not have gone home!) he took the Grayhound to DC, three days after that, I did too, and we started 3 years of perpetual dead, gathering, and festie tour ( begining with the Jerry band tour of 1991, 19 cities in 26 days. ) When we settled down, we had a daughter, then identical twin boys, fantastically smart and talented kids. sadly, he passed away just over 2 years ago love em while you have em guys, thats all I can say.... I can tell you that if I find love again, I will certainly appreciate it all the more still lovin'
Ramblinrose your story is beautiful...thanks for sharing the important lesson about loving people while they're here with us. I'm sorry that you lost your love, but it's wonderful that you were and are able to appreciate him.
On another forum (pgnx.net). We were friends for 4 months before anything happened, and then one day after he found out I was having problems with my boyfriend (he didn't know I had one) and was thinking about dumping him, he told me he had more than just friendly feelings for me and it went on from there. We've had an epic meeting where he flew from Nebraska down here for a weekend and we spent it in each other's arms without my parents' knowledge. We're still working on my parents allowing him to knowingly come to visit, but that's not working out well. Worse comes to worse, it's only another year and a half until college, and he's saving money to move into an apartment in whatever city I'm in college at when he gets his degree. I can honestly say that we're soulmates, even though we're both at such young ages (I'm 17, he turns 20 in a few weeks). Our 1 year anniversary is coming up next month.
