In the Elizabethan era it was considered better to be pale because it meant that you could afford to hire someone to work in the garden for you, and therefore you didn't tan because you didn't have to spend lots of time outside. Women actually tried to make their faces etc paler. I assume that now it's considered better to be tanned because, yeah, it shows that you have enough money to go on holiday or something. Tis a silly idea though Summer. xx.
In Southeast Asia they have skin-whitening salons and skin-whitener cream is constantly advertised on the TV. All the popular television presenters are of pale complexion as are their soap stars http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/printpage/0,5481,9061496,00.html

I am beginning to aquire that leathery look with lines around my eyes .. those are lines from smiling all the time .. you should all go for those. try smiling with your eyes ... I also have about 1 layers of the earth on me too ... ingrained and really protects my skin .. a bit like a hippo or an elephant. Yes asia does have cream etc for whitening the skin .. I used to teach the director of such a compnay english in Japan .. THey have a cream which is extremly popular for the Japanese to changed the colour of their nipples from the typical asian colour of brown to pink!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .. jeeeez .. so Girls if you have pink nipples we wanna see them. Mind there in itself is another problem .. ny sister is a monster for lying in the sun on holiday for hours and hours everyday while we run arond in the woods and the ocean and get up to all sorts of fun). She did once burn her nipples! THe next day she was in so much pain. What did she do .. she made some foil nipple protectors adn slotted them over her nipps like wee dunces hats and spent the day in the sun again .. unfunckingbelievable!!!!!!! Love and peace .. Maon
Thank goodness for computers and air conditioning ... those of us who hate summer don't ever have to leave the house! Just need to seal up the windows and doors so them damn pollens can't get in ... the back of my neck still hurts from when I accidentally went outside and got burnt. And Luchi, you are far too beautiful, please stop it!
air conditioning for your conditioned life .. air conditioning sucks man .. you shouldn't have it in this country .. its dries you out and you will shri=vel over time . it will suck all the moisture from your body ... stripp off and open the windows .. fill up the sink and go for a dip! GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
Hey, each to his own eh Maon? I'll go outside when the thunderstorms and torrential rain come ... I love those. Meanwile ... *cranks robbie the aircon robot up to 11 and pops another anti-histamine*
