When do you take a pregnancy test?

Well I don't really know anyone I can ask this so here goes; how long is it before a period is missed? I have completely unprotected sex 2 weeks ago and he came inside me (yes I know it was reckless and I went out the next day and made an appointment with my gyno but it isn't until April 4th and then went and got condoms)so now Im kind of freaking out and I need to know how long to wait before I take a test...I want to take one as soon as I can, also I heard that you can have a period that isn't as bad and still be pregnant so I guess the question would be how long do you wait before taking at home pregnancy tests??

one week. i for sure thought I was pregnant about two months ago the test came out positive but the blood test at the doctors came out negative. i would get two tests from different brands just to make sure.

Sometimes you can get a false reading if you have a high glucose level.

 

I beleive Clearblue Easy can detect up to 3 days before you miss your period. But in some womyn, it takes longer than this for the HCG to build up. (Brighid, am I right, is Clearblue the one which is the earliest?)

 

Well I am getting the test tomorrow...I am 6 days late so I am sort of expecting a certain result (is this unrealistic)...and I should get two different tests right?

 

I'm telling you when I got pregnant I knew it absolutly. I only questioned it once. For your sake I hope your not though. Your so young is the only reason. Use your first pee of the day. It contains more HCG, which is the hormone the test is looking for. If you want to buy a two in one kit, go ahead, in case you test negative and don't get a period in an other week.

Well I have always heard that you should buy two differnt two different types of tests in case you get a negative on one becuase it didnt work right...I always heard to do two at once to make sure....I dont know


Oh and thanks for the best wishes, although a small part of me hopes it is positive, I dont becuase I know what kind of situation that would present...but the idea of having a child is so beautiful I have always wanted to experience...just not a week before I turn 19

 

The test usually comes two to a box. You can in most towns get one done ata real hospital or clinic for free or a small fee of like five dollers. You can even get a test now at the doller store.

 

well I just took two EPT tests and Im not...I feel bad being happy but I am....
