I will call bullshit. The names mentioned are folks that I would never call weak losers. They are icons. You, you will never be as much of an influence on the world as any one of them, even if you live to be 150. They said fuck this shithole. I can relate.
i can relate too. but there decision to end thier own life is a weak one, a cowardly one. the world is hard, the world is evil. it takes strength to endure in it. them deciding not to endure, takes no strength, because it is a weak decision.
Wise words. I agree with a lot of what you say here. Suicide is not an easy choice. And even harder to do. Thanks for the awesome comment. Peace, PD
Yeah, I guess (for some folks) it's a lot easier to judge than it is to try and understand? It takes a lot more work to do the latter, etc. Thanks for the insightful comment. Peace, PD
Kurt Cobain (drug fucked LOSER who wrote some cool sounding songs) Hemingway (no idea) Van Gogh (was psychologically impaired by the end of it - too much absinth) Sylvia Plath (dunno) Marilyn Monroe (murdered) Hunter S. Thompson (probably felt hed achieved what he needed in life and knowing his character, didnt want to become an old senile man who wears a colostomy bag) ive felt the feeling of suicide but ive got enough introspection to understand how irrational feelings can be. i felt them this evening even. one needs to understand that feelings dont reflect reality and what you feel like doesnt equate to whats good for you. and so, when one sees this, suicidal thoughts are just an inconvenience and it is in fact the weak who fall prey but being weak is not a trait but a state, for these people. a sprinter cant sustain a sprint after theyve just won the olympics just as a person isnt always able to sustain their sanity or will for life after a lot of stress. in the same way, a so called 'weak' person is like a chubby kid.
Actually, it makes perfect sense. See, we're past that whole "teenage angst" phase, and therefore, have no use for Kurt Cobain and his whiney bullshit. And I've been 17 for a few months now, thank you very much.
you can't generalize about why people commit suicide. some people do it cause their health is in decline and their living in terrrible pain. so i would never call these people "selfish or cowards" as some of you have. i for one, if my health was in decline and i was living in terrible pain daily, would choose suicide. i'd don't wanna live my latter life drooling when i try to talk or feeble. its my life, i wrote all the chapters, and i for damn sure am gonna write the conclusion.
I had a friend who wanted to commit suicide because, she lost her job, house, car and had very little money. She had two small children, whose fathers were not in their lives. She was extremely depressed. She told me that if she commited suicide at least her kids would be taking care of financially. After hearing this, I told her that her kids don't care about money, they want and love their mother and if she commited suicide her kids would not be taking care of financially because, life insurance policies don't cover suicides. After, she heard about her insurance policy wouldn't cover suicide, she decided not to commit suicide after all. My friend his now going faithfully to family counseling and is on some type of anti-depression drug.
Somebody sounds jealous. Totally. *rolling my eyes* Peace, PD P.S. If you accomplish one third of what he did (and live to be 110), you really should consider yourself lucky. Big time.
Suicide is for losers and/or crazy people. Kurt Cobain is a good example of a loser and Van Gogh a good example of crazy.
kurt might have written some cool songs but in the end, he was a loser who sang loser stuff and was in a loser scene. grunge culture? get a life and teenagers who get into 'teenage angst' suck shit sorry. just because your a loser of a person doesnt mean you cant write good music.
Those are just convenient labels. They don't define what Kurt is/was. And to attempt to write Van Gogh off as "crazy." Again, it's way too convenient and simplistic for comfort. You really do need to go a bit deeper. Where's your compassion? Peace, PD
But it's so much easier to generalize. We're even seeing that in some of the posts here. But I bet if one or two or three of these folks actually did suddenly have a lot of intense physical and mental pain themselves, they'd be the first ones looking for a method to stop the pain. And sometimes suicide is the last resort. Because everything else has failed. Period. Your comment is one of the more thoughtful ones. Thanks for it. Peace, PD
