There are too many scruffy, mixed race, non-European run-a-way immigrants taking over the city. So very much unwanted and a pest. Thankfully the Dutch are now getting rid of 5000 of them in a crackdown. Wish it was more.

Nemesis: I'd rather have true refugee's coming to my country than people like you.. I may very well be a white girl that attends university, but I'm pretty sure that I know people from all walks of life and to me skincolor or religion doesn't matter at all. I happen to work with homeless youth in Amsterdam, all colors, all religions, all attitudes.. You see for example those blacks guys hanging 'round the monument on the Dam? I happen to know a couple of them.. they are from Sierra Leone, they are heavily traumatised because of them being forced to work as childsoldiers in the past. They have seen things that you pay to go see as 'oh wow, look at all the cool bloody effects' in the movies. If you would just open your mind, walk up to people you talk about in your post and ask them their story, you would think different. Why are these guys hanging there and not working, you ask? Well, go ask them! They would LOVE to have a job, but the bureaucracy in this country makes in nearly impossible. A Salone friend of mine had a couple of job interviews but was let down because his employer didn't want to go to the hassle of getting the acquired papers for a refugee. Ofcourse, there are probably some lazy ass black or brown muslim basterds here as well.. just like there are white ones, yellow ones etc. There are all kinds of people in all kinds of colors and if you are bothered by them while on your precious vacation than I suggest you stay the fuck out of here Okay, done with my rant now.

man, if you are that put off by the unemployed refugees in amsterdam, try having a visit to the states - you'd definitely not care for NYC. I was in Amsterdam in March for a week and had zero issues with these folk you speak of. sure, people asked me for money, but they were polite when I refused. in New York, they don't ask, they just mug you.

Simply put...... More and more diverse and unscrupulous characters are congregating and merging in the city which has changed over the years and it's destined to worsen if nothing is done about it, hence why the Dutch government are cracking down on the problem. And, yes I'm all for it, as well as the UK of course, most people are, which will always outweigh the minority who don't care.
Interesting. I didn't realize the Dutch had recently voted on this matter. Or, do you also speak for the majority of Dutch citizens as well? Just because a government make a decision. Does not automatically mean it will be supported by the majority.
