No matter what big gay Al says, the earth is going to be fine. The humans however...

Anywhoo, there's only one way to find out. Disney yourself.

Yah earth is going to be around for a minute...
No matter how many earthquakes, tornadoes, meteors it has to deal with the only things it has to worry about really is the sun and possibly a black hole' well on down the line.

Well I'm unaware of anything that can move it off its orbit if such a thing exists I imagine that would be a problem too.

People will probably still be around too and laugh at this page when they read it, if the can understand it.

Na dude, we've only recently developed the ability to completely obliterate ourselves. It won't take a whole 1000 years for the next crazy world leader to push the button.

This is what I was responding to...
but if there are still people 1000 years from now, I'm sure hipforums will still be a live working site. Hell, I bet theyll even bump this thread in 3010.

1000 years from today won't change anything. It will still be 'today'.

Whatever happens to these basically online liberieres? Since everything is like virtually stored? I dont know how to say what iam saying. In the year where the human race on this planet is wiped out, whats going to happen to the invisible information us people got going on here. The stuff thats basically hidden?

And me too orison, i wish i could just sit and fast forward time through thousands of years just watching on a couch. Well that never happens.

It has to be kept in a conditioned environment, or it will decay just like paper books in the library, over time. I read somewhere it will last a hundred years max without care.

I know exactly what you say. I was gifted a brain and a heart.
The information / art/ libraries and history of our species..
    IS
All that we are [aside from changes to reality like altering atmosphere.]
IF we 'go away' and none come to see this or read our left libraries...
    then we never existed.
we leave nothing behind but maybe a trace of cousin DNA in other species.
    If such exist.

This is why i say GO OUT and fear nothing...

Or humanity will go the way of the trilobyte lost but for fossil

The only way life on Earth would die out would be if the planet lost it's atmosphere. Asteroids haven't killed it yet, major natural disasters haven't, even a man-made nuclear apocalypse would still not destroy all life on Earth. We have found life in every place we have looked on Earth, even the most extreme environments where we thought it impossible.

Now if for some reason the Earth's core stopped rotating or cooled down to the point that the convection currents stopped the internal rotation then we would lose the magnetic field around the planet and within a few hundred years or sooner the atmosphere would be blown out into space by the solar wind. By the time that happened we would all have died from radiation poisoning from the sun. There are other ways the planet could lose it's atmosphere, HUGE comet or asteroid strike could possibly do it, but it would have to be horrendous in size and velocity. The death and expansion of the sun would also do it. But the most probable cause would be the loss of the planets ability to produce a magnetic field around itself. Barring any major huge strikes and the death of the sun, that is how life on Earth will end eventually. The core is cooling down and when it stops moving thats all she wrote boys and girls.
That will be the end of life here and Earth will be another rock in space.
It will happen at some point, but I think we are safe right at the moment, so don't lose any sleep over it.
