http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35831930/ BEIJING - Eleven rare Siberian tigers kept in small cages and fed only chicken bones have died of malnutrition at a cash-strapped zoo in China's frigid northeast, state media said Friday.A manager at the Shenyang Forest Wild Animal Zoo in Liaoning province, however, said the animals had died of disease. Siberian tigers are one of the world's rarest species, with just 300 believed remaining in the wild. absolutely horrible
...not to mention the market for Tiger parts used in Chinese"Traditional" medicine! (dick-hard potions mostly) Limp-dick Tiger poachin' mutha fucka's... ZW
hit the nail on the head ZW! killing tigers for parts is illegal, keeping them in captivity and allowing them to starve under the premise that you can't afford to feed them (which is the biggest fucking lie ever) isnt....go figure eh?! some fuckin world man
^^^I just heard a piece on NPR saying Snow leopards are under the same pressures... Fortunately as China joins the developing world, Chinese people are more and more demanding western medicine over the traditional Chinese medicines. Why? Mabey because they tend to be more effective ... Not sure I'f they'll nip it before Tigers and Leopards are wiped out though. It's not looking too good. Zw
yeah that is really bad, it says that particular zoo was mostly privately owned but the government owned 15%..but the government doesn't do anything to regulate it anyway. They're saying that zoos that have too many animals are becoming a problem, 6000 tigers in captivity in China, and they say its difficult to tell how many are Siberian..
