12 reasons why gay people should not be allowed to get married: 1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control. 2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children. 3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful. 5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal. 6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities. 7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire counrty. That's why we have only one religion in America. 8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 10. Children can never suceed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children. 11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer lifespans. 12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as seperate marriages for gays and lesbians will. (I hope you realize I'm being sarcastic...)

Flowerchild, at only 15, is wise beyond her years. She has hit the nail right on the head on this one. Nice job Flowerchild!
hi there had to reply...... if only it was this easy.... marrige that is for any couple it takes alot of work, just like a common law one. and if we let go of this worry about what sexuality some one is then maybe life in or out of marrige would be respected for its love for each other...... and fancy in the year 2004, we still see humans cruel to others because of this sexuality.... its all to do with the control a church or government has over the people to scare others about this gay marrige,is like trying to blind the lovers heart..to love. any way love n peace from saff
Well, i have thought of one good reason why gays shouldn't get married: Who would pay for it all? I mean, traditionally the brides parents have the lion share of the costs, but what if there are 2 brides, or non at all? would the bitch's parents have to pay for it or would they go in with the butch's parents halfway? But your post was abso-fuckin-lutely brilliant flowerchild.... big ups.
gay marriage is really just a political issue as far as politicians are concerned they don't care about gays' feelings they just want to save money on tax refunds. I am against gay marriage for that reason but, I am against all tax breaks on newlyweds there is no reason that newlyweds should get tax breaks. I don't really see why gays care so much seeing how they have unions though
Half of those bullshit lies dont even make sence....straight people also raise gay kids....how the fuck do you think they come about....they just fall out of the sky?
thats bloody awful, you guys are supposed to be accpeting of all, and you are judging people by their sexuality, that is so sad, you people should accept that like you they are living their own life. Very shallow, narrowminded view.
I guess the concept of sarcasm is lost on most of the people here... Maybe by the time they graduate high school they'll have taken enough English classes to appreciate it.
You didn't make those up. I looked at them about 2 months ago when I was working on a persuasive letter for my Honors English 4 class.
She's being sarcastic, the whole post is a joke She and most of us (me included) are 100% supportive of gay marriage Peace, Alex
