28 Days Later is pretty ridiculous... Just wondering if anyone saw the premiere of the firt movie on tv or saw it already. I don't know if I should see the second. For some reason, it's also a bit awesome... like the part where they're shopping for groceries. I'm not one for gore, though... at least it has some thought to it.
The few reviews I've read claim the movie is fucking incredible, but the movie industry does have it's supply of hired guns ready to give a great review to any movie from Ishtar to Water World If I have any doubts about a movie, I'll just wait six months and rent the dvd Hotwater
i couldnt really get into "28 days later", but it wasnt horrible. my prediction/suggestion...wait till it comes on dvd for rental
I've seen the first one a couple of times, and it was interesting, but I didn't love it. I'll probably Netflix this one when it comes out.
i have seen the first one and it was quite good (though it has been a while since i've seen it). i probably won't go see the new one in theaters but i will watch it eventually. i'm sure it will be good. JOn
i seen the first one one tv a while ago and i actually enjoyed it i haven't gone to the movies lately so maybe i'll go see it.
I actually saw 28 Weeks Later over the weekend... pretty unexpectedly. Anyway, it... wasn't great. It was more intense and arguably scarier than the first, but the story was totally weak. Without giving anything away, a couple completely ridiculous things happen to cause the re-outbreak of the virus. Stupid, really. But a couple parts definitely had the audience shocked. The movie went by really, really quickly, though. Somehow, when we hit the end of the movie, I thought we were only half-way through it. So I don't know what that says...
wow.that's cheap...soon enough we'll be hitting $9 a movie.that's a scary thought.i remember back in the day when it was only $7.those will be missed
I think it's the best new Zombie movie yet. I think the first one is more like what it would really be like than other recent movies. Only saw the preview for the second one once and it looked like shit. I'll still giver it a chance though. Trailers blow nowadays...
Ugh, agreed. Every horror/action trailer is simply not even worth watching. Most of the time, I can't even see what they're showing on the screen--the images just blur together into some total mess. The trailers tell you absolutely nothing about the movie. God, I really hate them.
thats why only i go to movies out of word of mouth. trailers never do a film justice, and there are so many shitty movies being made now a days
Speaking of shitty movies, I think it's time we boycott every re-make that comes out until they finally start making some original films.
I'm avoiding the second one actually, as I honestly didn't care for the first one at all. It was the first movie I had ever seen in which literally every shot, part of the plot, etc. had been literally lifted straight out of other better movies along these lines. Its plot (as the press has pointed out) all but plagurizes "Night Of The Comet" (a big fave of mine), the opening shot (waking up naked in an over-the-bed shot and then wandering down the street) was lifted directly from "Quiet Earth", etc. I couldn't believe it was such a patchwork quilt, especially since Garland had had a hand at the story. I liked his novel "The Beach", but this one was just so unoriginal that I just... well, went back to the originals it stole from. No offense to anyone who liked them, though.
