4 months, BANGS! & caelynn's tuque :) :)

i gave myself bangs...well tried to...i took out one too many dreads i think so i always have to pin some of the loose hair back.....and they're kinda long still....but i'll fix it soon. Anyways.... i think they look HAWT!!!! and im so glad i did it. now i feel like i have a little more versatility to my look and stuff :] so these are my dreads at 4 months 2 weeks

holy shit theyre fucking amazing dreads! and for only 4 months! iv had mine for 6 months and theyre not even knotting atall. sweet.

As for tips? ohhsh, i dont really do much with them at all anymore. People are always asking what i do to get them sweet so here ya go: I never wash them which keeps them from congoing at the roots....the cleaner my hair is, the dryer it is so the more the hairs stick together......i occasionally roll the roots to fight off loose hairs (but it doesn't work well because my roots are pretty greasy from never washing so they always slip out) i sleep with them down, i play with them alot, i wear tuques often...even though it's summer....i wear them up alot and i don't think about them!

honestly i don't do anything with them, i think it's just the type of hair i have...it's very dry, and curly and messy. finally having frizzy hair is paying off I also think that the way they were done in the first place helped them alot........my friend just used his hands to rip and roll and tease. No combs, no wax, no product, alot of time. Apples+Oranges dreads will probably be as kick ass as mine since she has the same kind hair as me

 

I think wearing them up a lot, but sleeping with them down helps a lot... I do the same thing... wearing them up, I think, helps tighten them a bit, especially towards the root... but I've slept with them up once, and never will again. It was a fecking mess in the morning.

I really wish I would have started mine, just using hands... instead of the comb. I found that when I backcomb with my fingers and such, versus a comb, they seem to tighten a lot easier...the comb just kind of makes a frizzy mess for me.

Mine have been going for a month, and I have a feeling there's no way they'll be looking that awesome in 3 more. I have ULTRA greasy hair, though.

How did you give yourself ''bangs''? Did you just grab some dreadies and the front and comb them out?....

My friend said the same thing, "I like the fact that you have bangs, it makes it look girlier..." --- I actually hate bangs on me, period, with or without dreads, and pin them back constantly. I hope they grow out soon so I can dread those too!




Oh and lucy, what do you do with your bangs for washing? I know you said you don't wash your dreads, but do you wash your bangs? Condition them even?

YOU look lovely with bangs + dreads. It suits you well... but then again you always look gorgeous

 

I combed out about 4 or 5 at the front, but i think i did one too many. I wish i would have waited for someone to help me because now i am really starting to hate them. They're not turning out the way i wanted them to because i have curly hair, and they dont always look nice.

I wash them pretty much every day......just when im washing my face or when i have a shower, i tie my dreads back and just wash the bangs with the same shampoo i use for my dreads. no conditioner or anything...and i just be careful not to get my dreads wet. It happens, but it's no big deal.
