    42% favor impeaching Bush
if he lied about Iraq war,
    Zogby Poll

    Dear ImpeachBush/VoteToImpeach.org,

More than "two-in-five voters (42%) say they would favor impeachment proceedings if it is found the President misled the nation about his reasons for going to war with Iraq," according to the latest Zogby Poll.

The poll was taken between June 27 and June 29 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3%. Following Bush’s nationally-televised speech this week his approval rating dropped again to 43%.

A large majority of Democrats (59%) say that Bush should be impeached if he lied about Iraq and one out of every four Republicans (25%) say that they would favor impeachment under those circumstances, according to the Poll. Forty three percent of independent voters favor impeachment if Bush lied about the Iraq war.

What "If"? This administration's lies have been exposed clearly again and again. If the sheeple still have to speak in terms of "If" then I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this to amount to anything anytime soon.

It's amazing only 42% are in favor of impeaching him considering the loss of life and cost of the invasion and assuming he really did lie about it.

So, what does it say about the people of this country when over half will come right out and say that they will tolerate a lying president? The poll isn't just asking if bush should be impeached, it's asking if he should be impeached IF HE WAS PROVEN to have lied in order to start a costly war (both in lives and cash). What kind of crazy shit-for-brains asscake would NOT want a lying president impeached? Apparantly the average American. Thats depressing.

I want to slice both of those hands off and replace them with something less like a puppet show and more like. . . . . . democracy.

What kind of message are we sending when we will impeach a president about lying about sex..but if he's lying about war, and lives, we won't? ..

Isn't it already clearly established that he lied?

A lot of desperate bush supporters like to tell themselves that Bush acted based on faulty intelligence, thus transferring the blame to some nebulous intelligence supplying party, whoever that may be.

I think if the war had anything to do with WMDs in the first place, Korea would have been of much higher priority on our list of invadable countries.

I agree that he should be impeached if he lied about the war but, it will never happen.
Although there were impeachment hearings, Clinton was never impeached. In fact no president has ever been impeached, although Nixon and A.Johnson came very close.

I am all for impeaching a president whether he lied about war, sex or whatever.

There were impeachment proceedings but, in the end Clinton was never impeached. No president has ever been impeached although, Andrew Johnson was one vote away and Nixon resigned before they could impeach him.

Will not happen. Impeachment will never affect the almighty overlord of destruction. Even if it was impeached, you think cheney is any better?

Impeaching a president for lying about war is one thing...but if we impeached presidents every time they lied about ANYTHING, we'd have a new president every year. That doesn't make for a stable government.

That's incorrect, Clinton and A. Johnson were both impeached. Andrew Johnson was one vote away from being ejected from office, not one vote away from impeachment.

That's an interesting way of looking at things. I used to think that Bill Clinton was a "piece of filth" (as one political extremist put it), but I kinda miss the days of economic prosperity and a president who was eloquent.

it is already clear that there were no wmd so he changed his mind that we went in to liberate the iraqi people and now that we have given their own elected gov't you hear bush talking more about the war on terror instead of just iraq. when bush gave his 4th of july speach he said something about iraq being one of the first successes in the war on terror or something like that that made it sound like it wasn't going to end with iraq. he has plans on liberating all of the middle east my bombing them back 50 years. seems terrorism is replacing communism in the new US imperialistic cause.
