I'm wondering (because I heard on the internet) that taking a full untouched 80mg oxycontin then it's like taking 25mg every four hours for 12 hours. I was just checking to see if anyone in here had any actual experience. It makes sense to me because they ARE time release, but I just don't want to go swallowing an 80 thinking I'm going to be alright and then OD all over the floor.
Can't help you. But, if you have no tolerance, I would imagine taking that would make you a bit sick. I've only ever taken roxicodone in 15mg amounts.
I have a moderate tolerance but I get just as fucked up taking them whole as I do chewing them. The only difference is taking them whole makes it come on slower and last longer but I feel just as screwy. Idk... I guess if you don't have much of a tolerance taking an 80mg Oc would be a bad idea either way. I doubt you would OD but you might get sick. Maybe try just cutting it in half or into quarters and taking them over time.
The first time I tried oxy was like 4 years ago, and I had no idea what it was. It was an 80, and only 20 bucks. I just remember thinking, ah its just a little pill how bad could it fuck me up. I swallowed the whole thing, and got extremely sick for hours and hours, throwing up everytime I moved. But when I wasn't feeling nauseous and was lieing down, it felt like heaven. But I definitly learned my lesson that night.

if you swallow it with the time re-lease on there it will just take longer to kick in it wont last longer and an 80 is a lot usually if you've never done it before you should split it or take a smaller dose like a 40 or 20...doing a whole 80 for your first time would most likely make you sick and nausious
Twizz- Man I really don't know anything at all about how the time released system works on OC's. When I was doing them I already had one hell of a monster Herion Habit. When I used them I would take the time release off and I was shooting them at the time. But what you said about 25mg hiting your system every 4 hours could be true and sounds accurate to me. I would think thats how a time released system works. But who knows it could be 10mg every hour for 8 hours or 20mg every 3 hours for 12 hours I really don't know.
Time release doesn't mean it takes longer to kick in. It means that the active chemical is released over a longer period of time.
If i crushed 20mg OC when I first stared it was amazing, if I swallowed it whole and let it take its course I felt nothing. So Im not sure, just be careful. I would assume a 80 would feel like taking a 15mg roxi every few hours, but then again I have no Idea so don't base it on that.
Well I'm kind of pissed about the fact that nobody has tried this. I figured for SURE someone in here would know what swallowing an 80 whole would do. Can't be mad at anyone though, it's nobody's fault really. haha.
It is a constant release building a serum in your blood. It is not like taking 25mg's every how many ever hours because you constantly stay at a plateau instead of the rollercoaster like effect you would get from taking a pill as you start to come down.
Snorting pills is stupid as hell. It's bad for your nasal passages and lungs. It's really not any more effective than swallowing/parachuting, the bioavailability is less I believe, and the effects last for a much shorter amount of time.
Here's some reliable information for you; I was addicted to Oxycontin for a long time. I usually snorted it, but I have taken it orally and intravenously many times as well. OC 80's are incredible to eat, and your question about it being like taking a 20mg pill once every 3 hours for 12 hours is a fairly good way to describe it. If you take it in the morning about 10 it won't be until about 8 or 9 that it starts to wear off. After about 30 minutes of taking it, you will start to feel the effects and in about an hour you will be absolutely buzzed out of your mind. The best part is these effects will continue consistently for about 10 hours until they taper off. As far as worrying about ODing, there isn't a chance in hell. Remember, they prescribe this to little old ladies. Even if you suck off the coating (which many people do to make the onset quicker) you have nothing to worry about. The entire pill, the whole way through dissolves at the same slow rate. You'll be really messed up, but not dangerously so. Hope that helps, ask if you have any questions.
