    hello there...
I started out listning to Psychedelic rock cause my folks where in to that... and thats all i listen to growing up... totally enjoyed it... The Doors, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, the Stoned Roses.... its a long list of some great musicians who made some wicked psy-rock...
and believe me i was soo against "electronic music" till i went to my first Psychedelic trance party... was wicked... repetetive sound sample... lots of uv with people all dressed in uv-sensitive clothing... its was a visually and audiably stimulating experience.. especially on a head full of acid with some other goodies to go with that :p...

thats when i got into listening to Psy-trance... i still dont like and cant stand "techno" music... feel its crap... heheheh but thats just what i think...

but yea.. i feel that psy-trance has a similar structure to psy-rock except that its alot faster... especially when you compare it to pink floyd's music.. im not even trying to compare the musical tallent and genius that the band Pink Floys band members have and the Trance artist cause there is no comparison.. but the trance music almost feels like it has its roots there in what floyd did in the 70's and 80's..

let me know what you think because im trying to figure out how it all moved towards this fast paced psychdelic experience..
    peace

ThanK YOU for bringing up this connection. I'm so sick of posers saying that only pink floyd is psychadelic. THey are .. but trance is way more psychadelic and its modern.

Check out Hallucinogen's two CD's "Twisted" and "The Lone Deranger". Simon Posford (the guy behind Hallucinogen) is simply amazing; he's one of the guys behind Shpongle and Younger Brother too.
