I am a first time grower. I started a plant from seed about five months ago in TX. Had it in a window for 1st month and it looked good. Transplanted it to a lange barrel pot and put it outside. It survived but soon I lost all of the bottom half leaves. I started to fertilize and the leaves stopped dying. In fact I think I overfertilized. Anyway, I had some buds grow right in the middle of the plant against the stalk in the third month but they stopped growing and I had to harvest them. Got about a half ounce. Around the fourth month the plant took off, it speaded out and is getting big with new flowers. Questions: Will this plant bud again? We have several months of long days and entinese heat. If it buds again after I harvest should I cut the plant stalk or leave it alone for the next crop? thanks for your quick responeses. Skilletlicker
If its outside and the days are long enough the plant will go back into veg untill the days shorten then it will bud again.
Flowering is when it stops growing leaves and starts growing buds. In the states plants should start flowering around August and finish sometime in October.
Ok, it has not started to flower yet. After it does and the buds come and I harvest is it best to cut the plant to the ground or not. I want to grow it again. Here the winters are very mild. Thanks again for all your help!
The only problem you would have is that the days will not be long enough for it to return to its vegative state untill next april. Why not start some fresh seeds or cuttings. You can grow the same plant again but you would need to give it at least 18 hours of light for it to change back to veg. You could do this by putting it indoors for a month. Or else you could just leave it and wait.
Why not start some fresh seeds or cuttings. Can I replant cuttings from my plant? What does this comment mean?
Marijuana is an annual. Without light manipulation it complete's it's life cycle in less than one year. It dies in the winter. Except at the equator.
