How many people truely believe that they are what their sign tells them? I mean, i would believe it to a degree but not all of it would be true. I was reading up on myself today in fact and there are a few things that don't match. And i was just curious as to what other people think? Should you match your sign? or is it all just a bunch of bull?
I think of it as a generic thing, like this is kinda like you in the most basic ways. But there are some things about my astrological sign that doesn't ad up to who I really am. Also as far as anything along these lines, start charts, tarot, palmistry, etc, when I get a reading done on these that I do like, I pursue it and make it happen, if I get a reading on something I dont like, I make sure it doesn't happen. I think for the most part alot of people look at these types of things as a definite, it says this, so thats how it is. However, I think by looking at these kinds of readings and charts, you should be thinking of it as advice, what you should change and what you need to avoid becoming or work on becoming. hey vanilla, depends on what you are reading,if your talking about horoscopes in the paper or magizines then yea its about 90% bull ,so you have about a 10% chance of something hitting.horoscopes in the newspaper came into being in the 1920s for purely commercial reasons.astrology is very complicated so "they" chose to focus on the sun sign because it was easy figure out what sign you are,and easily put into a 12 part newspape column.everybodies chart is actually made up of all signs.so don't judge on incomplete knowledge.99% of people who say it is all bs have never had their charts done, but to some ignorance is bliss. rahu
Well, if you are reading only about your sun sign, than that may be where your problem lies. Your moon and rising sign, are just as important asx your sun sign. Also, it has to do with all the other planets, what house they are in and what is going on astologicaly in the sky right now.. It's get wuite deep... ASTRO.com is a good sight to check out...
When i read the general characteristics of my moon sign, i was shocked! it was very representative of myself (or: I was very representative of the sign ).
yeah! sometimes I do believe on it... if you know yourself well there's a coincidence that they sometimes match on who you are...
Im a pisces and i match my sign very well actually the only thing thats different is i have a bad temper when people get me mad but i guess thats just genes
to a certain extent, i think my astrological profile pretty much matches the real me. the fact that my mom and i are both fire signs can explain why we're pyros. also that i'm pretty conceited and hard-headed is pretty true. but when i think of other people and their signs, they don't really seem to match up. eh.
I have also been told this. I am a Taurus with a Virgo ascendant and I whilst the profile I read for a Taurus woman was incredibly accurate (right down to the knds of hobbies that I enjoy!!), reading up on Virgo was also very insightful and personally I found the combination of those two to be spot on with my personality and quirks. Same goes for my man (Taurus with a Leo ascendant). I think it depends on what you are reading as well - as someone else here mentioned, horoscopes in the paper are rubbish. Invest your time in either getting your chart done or a good author on astrology and you will notice a dramatic difference. The book that I read up on - and still do refer to - was Sun Signs by Linda Goodman. I found her to be very accurate and she covers the man, woman, child, boss and employee of each sun sign - came in very useful in understanding my boss I might add!
It's not about believing in it, just compare your daily routine to what is generally assumed as typical behaviour of your Zodiac Sign. Observe and learn, don't take everything for granted.
If you read it in the newspaper or in the magazine, then its just about 99% bull. Acs and the moon are the most important factors, and in what sign. I think the acs sign tells you about your personality.
Hey guys, great site! Just thought I'd chime in, being a professional astrologer... Combined, the sun, moon, and ascendant are simply three seperate pieces of information, when looked at through the lense of the natal chart. Contrary to popular belief, the ascendant has less to do with personality, and more to do with impulse. This is a "new phase" point in our lives and as such, is accessed rather unconsciously and somewhat haphazardly. Karmically, it would be an area in life that we have chosen to start developing. Always remember when looking at a planet in a sign that two other factors weigh in heavily: The house (1-12) that a particualr planet is placed in has as much, if not MORE weight of influence than a particular sign. House = life issue, Sign = how that issue is resolved. Also a planet that makes an aspect to the particular planet in question (meaning that it is placed at a specific arc between 1-360 (many variations apply)) will lend its influence strongly to the planet in question. Just to get the facts straight, the Sun Sign is the area of life that we have self-actualized. It is actually the depositer of leo and the fifth house, which in the context of a natal chart, can clue you in further to the function of your self-actualized ability. White Feather, glad you brought up the nodes. Guys, if you are really interested in looking at a single point in a person's chart to shed light, look no further than the moon's nodal access. These the moon's nodes are like an amped up moon. Think of the moon's influence times three. The nodal axis is simply the first two points any good astrologer will look at when doing a chart reading. The south and north node represent, respectively, no less than our soul's karmic past and the area our egos (conscious selves) to access true development. In fact, the nodal access is worked on over a series of lifetimes. Ever meet someone who you were SO comfortable and farmiliar with, that you could just swear you've met before? That's because, you probably have. So, for soulmate type relationship questions , look at both of your charts next to each other, look at the south node, venus, and pluto, and observe the aspects they form to one another. You'll be amazed!
