Read all of this and answer my question below.

Considering what the CIA has already done and considering just how far they are willing to go to obtain their desired results.

Is it really that crazy to believe that Facebook is nothing more than another CIA backed endeavor?

You left out that they blew JFK's head open in 1963, but yea...I've never trusted Facebook. At first I just thought it was really stupid, then I realised that it's really stupid and shady.

Yes, in fact it's fucking insane and most psychologists would probably declare it a symptom of unreasonable paranoia.

So why not tumblr, and myspace, and livejournal. In fact, THE ENTIRE INTERNET IS JUST A CIA DEVICE.

    SOMEBODY ANSWER THIS

Because this is the one thing paranoid people can never answer and just like to conveniently ignore.

What information would they be getting from facebook.

You don't need a facebook to track an IP

Everyone's post on hipforums alone are far more incriminating than what most people have on facebook

And I really don't care if the entire world knows last night I was frying plantains.

All the schools you've gone to, all the names of the people you know, where you work, what kind's of things you're into, drug use, places you frequent, all sorts of pictures of you doing things, etc.

Lots of people have already lost their jobs over pictures of them doing things of FB. That's a little different, but nonetheless.

You've never thought about those points before?

People seem to think Facebook auto-fills your entire life history just because you forgot to click on some opt-out option.

Fair enough. I won't be seeing you around there then :p

Yeah, I think when Facebook first started, and people left their account open for anybody to view, and posted anything and everything, employers were a little less than impressed if your actions brought disrepute to the company.
If you are managing a big account and the clients Facebook your name and see you smoking a big fat joint, it doesn't look to good.
Plus, I can imagine some uptight conservative company sacking people for being pro-choice etc.
    Employers do some strange things.
The thing is, it isn't Facebook that people should be worried about it's officious companies unfairly dismissing their staff.

If the CIA were lifting people off the street for doing what ever you think they would pull people off the street for...then they are doing it very very quietly and very very slowly.

The only reason most people associate the CIA and Facebook is because of some tenuous financial tie...and that's about it.

The shady aspect of Facebook is other users grooming kids and using it to for shady reasons.
Plus shady applications that mine your details (un-related to Facebook itself).

It isn't a little different it's a lot different, btw

    Judging by this: http://www.archives.gov/iwg/declassified-records/rg-263-cia-records/rg-263-report.html
    (CIA declassified files, ironically)
Facebook, actually, should be a multi-agency international conspiracy.
But, big-headed Americans, as-per-bloody-usual, reduce it down to a very Amercentric operation only involving the CIA.
Why? Because most can't be bothered to do any research further than the end of their nose.
If they bothered to do any research themselves at all, that is.
They are not interested in anything else but their own country.
Why bother with anybody else when you can just spew the OP out over and over again for any and every given issue.
I wonder if the OP bothered to research any of the detail in the post?

The CIA has a long history and have certainly been behind some malevolent intents worldwide. However, your posts have no references, and could be made up on the spot by whatever website you copy and pasted that from. As for the facebook/CIA link, yes that's crazy. The NSA handles most of the intelligence workload, and they don't have the resources to devote to your inane posts about Justin Bieber. Their are already files on you, one's which aren't analyzed unless a need is addressed by a person looking for specific information on you you.

One point which is certainly incorrect from my historical analysis within Cambodia from many sources is the fact that that the Lol Nol Government overthrow of Sihanouk was backed by the CIA. The American government had supported financially and diplomatically the Sihanouk government up until the coup by the General Lol Nol.

After Lol Nol Took power, the CIA provided weapons and money to fight against the Khmer Rouge, which from Washington's standpoint was a satellite of Vietnam, and was essentially until the mid 1970's.

When the Khmer Rouge took power in 75, the Vietnam war was ending but was still seen as a Satellite state Vietnam. Vietnam tried to consolidate it's power over Saigon, while the Khmer Rouge actively worked on a collectivist campaign which included the execution of all impure Khmer people including the Vietnamese living within Cambodia. (One that ended in the killing of 1/4 of the population of Cambodia. One of the more successful genocides in history)

By around 78 or so, Vietnam was at war with the Khmer Rouge, a Government it had helped prop up. This led to the Vietnamese consolidation of power in Phnom Penh in 1980.

While the CIA provided weapons to the remaining Lol Nol troops in the Khmer Rouge period (75-80) Afterwords it revised it's stance, and the United Nations diplomatically supported the Khmer Rouge rebellion, as it was than an active satellite state of Vietnam until 1992.

The War here officially ended in 1998, when Pol Pot died, comfortably in his bed, and the remaining Khmer Rouge troops in the west of the country (Koh Kong) surrendered their arms.

May 20th theres a 'holiday' here called The Day Of Hatred, where symbols and flags of the Khmer Rouge are burned on the streets here in Phnom Penh.

Why don't you look at the technology of the 21st century. IPs aren't that big of a deal. Even if you link it back to household, there is no way to be certain of who was actually using the computer. Former Cuban spys knew enough to only use Internet cafes and that was 10 years ago.

These days, it's all about "profiling."
