This movie came out in '06, not sure if it's been out long enough to establish a 'cult following' - but I definitely think that is has the potential. If you haven't seen it yet you should check it. Its an awesome depiction of the modern drug culture - "Ponders the inherent doom of Slacker transgressors..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J5FWEre07w
Loved the book by Philip.K.Dick. I'm surprised at myself, for not seeing it yet. I will have to remedy that.
This movie bored me a bit and for the most part found the animation kind of annoying in this one. I much prefer Waking Life.
It is in no way a depiction of modern drug culture. It's set in the future and revolves around an imaginary drug.
But it's science fiction, so it's supposed to be relavent to today, and was inspired by Dick's own use of drugs. I love the film and the book.
Its one of my favorite movies. One of those that make you see something new everytime you watch it. I think ive seen it over ten times.
